I was quite impressed by my first viewing of Dame Judi Dench as "M" in "Goldeneye", especially when she said, " If you think for one moment I don't have the balls to send a man out to die, your instincts are dead wrong."

She still has her female side though which became apparent when she witnessed Bond's cold blooded execution of Elektra King.
