I think it's really not as big of a deal as people make it out to be. The two men grew up and wanted to go their own way. They didn't need each other any longer. They made up and were friends again....I think had John lived they would have been close again. Especially after Linda died. No question Paul would have sought out his childhood friend.

when ppl try to see the "depth" they tend to see his lyrics...they don't really appreciate his musicality. he can make magic with any instrument (including voice). and his bass is just unbelievable.

he's really a genius on the order of beethoven and mozart. and ppl will tell u of his melodic skills but it's overshadowed when they see his lyrics like "grandchildren on my knee" and think it's a shit song. but even john said he can write a good lyrics if he wants to. but i love them both equally.

Learn to spell. Freddy Mercury's song was after John died. If Paul had died, he would have likely written a song for him. Freddie's style is much closer to Paul's than John's. It is obvious Freddie Mercury was influenced by Paul more than John. You would see that if you have any musical sense at all. John wasn't the only "genious" in the Beatles. Paul was a genius too. Don't be so closed minded. You said you don't know anything about Paul post Beatles. How can you judge what he has done?
