  • the motor wheel is not latched properly to the frame, I mean a locking mechanism is very crucial to the safety of the rider. Yeah, not that safe I must foresee.

  • biiiiiiiicycle ::D

  • @trekfuel09 We sell kits at $399 for the 10 mile model and $795 for the 20 mile lightweight model. Check out our website for more details.

  • Is that the 8ah SLA or lithium ion battery pack?

  • @TheBuckNigger Yes, the SLA is 8ah and the Lithium is 8.5ah

  • is there any way to convert my kinetic energy into electricity?

  • @ImSoOffended Yes, this is how all electric generator work, by converting kinetic energy (usually heated steam, or flowing water in the case of hydro electric) into electricity. You would need to pedal like Lance Armstrong to even generate enough electricity to recharge our battery though. The motor is 250 watts, and the average Tour de France racer generates about 300 watts.

  • @CleanRepublic could you not have small dynamo's on the wheels just to extend the battery life?

  • @jackvincent90 why does everyone think that dynamos can generate free power? As soon as you hook up a dynamo to a battery that you're recharging the dynamo develops resistance comparable to the energy it generates PLUS friction losses. The dynamo would DECREASE your battery's energy storage, not add to it.

  • @ClownFight you riding aslong, check you batteries, oh no i have 1%, best put on the dynamo, now you start peddling instead of using the power and the dynamo charges the batteries. What is so hard to understand about that?

  • @jackvincent90 If you are pedalling becaue your battery runs out then you are moving yes? If you attach the dynamo then you are still pedalling but moving much slower because of the resistance. You will arrive at your destination much faster and less fatigued without having the dynamo attached, where you can plug your pack into the wall socket. It will take 400km of pedalling to charge for 30km of electric assist. What is so hard to understand about that? There is no free energy!

  • @ClownFight lol, i understand that there will be resistance, not allot but small friction resistance, yes you burn up more energy yourself, a small light dynamo or even an old drill on ur bike will generate electricity from your peddling (not free never said it was). Tesla has good free energy inventions. as to my original question will it extend batteries life, yes, is there better gens out there than the high friction 1's ur thinking of yes,

  • @ClownFight if 30 seconds slow turning on drill gen powers a 1.5 aa battery for half an hour im sure it can gen enought to power your electric bike, the resistance is so low its like having your tyres down a little

  • @jackvincent90 Oh give me a break. Talk to an electrician, better yet talk to a fifth grade math student. YOU CAN'T CREATE MORE ENERGY THAN YOU PUT IN. Batteries simply store energy at the same rate as the energy it takes to generate it, minus the friction and other losses. This is science 101. Have you actually to use re-gen on your electric bike or are you guessing?

Some people are incapable of understanding simple physics principles. You are one of these people.

    We're done here.

  • @ClownFight but you cud put more power back into the batteries by peddling with a dynamo? /watch?v=ahr9sUnqfeM

  • Price?...

  • @shadowblack1987 $399 for the 10 mile kit and $795 for the 20 mile light weight kit. Check our website for more details. Thanks.

  • Now does this work backwards, so when your not using the battery or the motor, it will charge itself?

  • @AKSoapy29 No it does not charge if you go backwards.

  • I think he means will it charge when not using battery or motor, just pedaling for the entire journey.

Couldn't imagine anyone going backwards on a bike.

  • I have a Mini 40 Mile Busettii bike and it runs 50-55 miles on one battery charge. I also tried my friends Vortex Mountain bike by Busettii. It ROCKS ! Can get up to 32 mph top speed, and on one charge that bike set the new record of 86 miles. Hope it becomes a big hit. In California many people like Busettii because they cost around $1700 but can go 50--86 miles on one charge depending on model. Maria in Cali

  • If you were to go into a with one it's called moter dopeing

  • neato now i just have to come up with $400 from somewhere :)

  • Stop being lazy & pedal your bikee -_- .

  • @punkyjunkykid Stop being lazy and handwrite a letter, post it to this guy and wait for a response. Sharpen up, after all, it's already the future. Man.

  • LOL Bicycle! Bicycle! Bicycle!

  • With the bike kits is which is best to make electric the front wheel, or the back wheel ? and can the bike survive rain, or moist weather if made electric.

  • @rainbowdragon1215 maybe putting some power on the front wheel can be risky if you go over wet road, gravel or similar.

If your front wheel skids, you'll be on the ground in a second.

Rear wheel skids can be recovered

  • @rainbowdragon1215 We think it's better to have a front wheel system for two main reasons: 1. As most of your weight on a bike is on the back tire, having a motor pulling you is more efficient 2. its MUCH easier to install since the back wheel of most bikes have a gear cassette and system attached to them. With our system you don't have to take all of your gears apart.

  • @CleanRepublic and third it isn't efficient, why would a healthy person wanna get a thing that can not recharge a battery but only use electricity?

  • Sometimes you just need a little help to ride a Bike...

  • V TREH MINUTAH IMATE ELEKTRICNI KOLO,KI GA LAHKO SAMI UREDITE IN SE POCENI...ENOSTAVNO....

  • you guys are awesome!

  • Hi there, CleanRepublic ..Where can i get this ? It is possible to get it from you?

  • about how fast can you excpect to go on this kit and how much?

  • wow that was fast my ebike cost me $699 and have many many wires from the controler and this guys one is a battr and one cable boy how much does this one cost him. im not very tall but that guys seat is way to high for me

  • i havent seen many bikes were you pedal to charge the battery any one know were to find one?

  • Is that a Huffy Stone Mountain? LOL I still ride mine everywhere.

  • dose the kit come with everything in the vid(not the bike I know)?

  • What would be the max speed it can go for a guy that weighs 250 pounds.

  • @bthomas11986 30 - 35 km/h

  • can you peddle without the motor on or will it have resistance(does it have a freewheel)

  • how much does the kit wieght

  • We'll be ordering from you soon. Great ad.

  • so pedaling charges the battery and then you can use the power in the battery to run the motor?

  • no it is charged from a socket at home, then used along the trip, when it dies you either replace with a spare charged battery or you would have to pedal the rest.

  • Please, please, pleazzzze, tell me that you are making a kit for 20 inch folding bikes. If you are I want to buy one right NOW! I'm in love with your kit.

    Celebrate life! Laurie

  • i second that! I also have 20 inch folding bike. : )

  • is there anyway to increase the speed of this bike by adapting a larger battery? or would you need a bigger hub/motor?

  • Dang cooL! You should find a way to create a charger so that when you padel the padels...it charges the batteries or.....whenever the front wheel spins the magnet....it charges it. You know what i mean?

  • how fast does it go?

  • Cost? and would you deliver to New Zealand?

  • Kindly tell me if its a brushless motor. Also is there a rheostat of some sort to control how fast the motor would go? How much would your kit cost?

  • Thanks. What part of the whole concept do you find the most interesting? Ease of installation, price...?

  • You gave me some hope to convert mine! but you didn't show how to put the 'throttle' part. How do I do it?

  • wow, i dig that

  • Hi there,

    congratulations for your job!!

I´m trying to get 2 set of theese kits through your website but no answer so far... I am really interested , how can I do ?

After having tested I´d like to introduce them in Spain/Europe.

Please send me a couple of lines.

    Cheers

  • CleanRepublic, you're the man! You came up with an inexpensive but quick electrical conversion of an ordinary bike. w00t!

  • Thanks, bro!

  • This coshyno dude persuades you to get a gas engine kit on eBay, for your bike for $125; because it travels up to 37 mph. That's a gasoline powered internal combustion engine, it's not great for the environment; because it produces carbon monoxide and smog. It creates a large carbon footprint. Your company is not about harming the environment, it's about helping the environment. I can't believe that guy!

  • Haha. Yeah, I don't think he understands the value of the quick installation and quiet, clean operation. Also, who needs to go 37mph without pedaling? That's what motorcycles are for, but our kit is for your very own bike that you already enjoy.

  • @CleanRepublic But the gas engine is cheaper, and faster.

  • Thanks, Bro!

  • You said "Thanks, Bro!" to me, in this video; twice.

  • I see that there is no computer with this kit. Can we add a bike computer without interfering with the hub motor or vice versa? If so, wired or wireless?

  • Sure. You could ad a spoke/magnet computer just like on any other bike. It wouldn't interfere and would give you great data about how your ride is going. You could use the data to compare very closely your experience with/without the motor being turned on.

  • how much..

    I have a recumbent with a 18" front wheel.

    what about that ..

  • We offer 26'' and 700c at this time, but for $599 we will custom build you a kit with any wheel size. What type of riding do you want the kit for? What do you like/dislike about our kit compared to others you've seen? Thanks! -Mike

  • I don't think we understand your point.

  • But we aren't crazy, no.

  • nvm dude

  • how fast can it go with pedaling?

  • When will you offer the kit without the battery so that we could sub a Lithium for the SLA or is the controller set up for this battery only? Will you be offering a Lithium batt in the future for this kit? Thanks

  • Sorry for the delay in response! Yes, you could buy our kit without the SLA battery right now for $399. The controller will take a lithium battery. We're working on our own 9Ah lithium battery pack now and should have it ready this summer. What type of riding do you want the kit for? What do you like/dislike about our kit compared to others you've seen? Thanks! -Mike

  • You're quite welcome! -Clean Republic
