  • Lovely deflection there by Krasenkow .

  • Awesome! wow!

  • at 0:49 you call this the something attack, i always thought this was the meran variation of d4 ?

  • @mcpartridgeboy i think this is called the Shabalov Attack - characterized by that early g4!? and black is playing the Slav Defense. The Meran Variation arises out of a different move order, where black usually waits for white to develop his Bf1 and then plays dxc4 followed by b5 to gain a tempo on the white bishop. hope that was clear enough!

  • @OnlineChessLessons great, thankyou very much !

  • Awesome combination!

    Thanks for this video!

  • Hi, I am 13 and I have a really Really important match coming up!!! Can you please please please show me easy, simple defense that will do good against a very aggressive player..... Please help your my last hope.

  • @HistoryMan4444 i'd recommend the french defense

  • @HistoryMan4444 caro kann IMO ! you can end up loosing a centre pawn in the french ! caro slav possitions are an agreesive players worst knightmare !

  • @HistoryMan4444 I think the biggest problem is your defensive nature. You said it's soon. Not today. Not in an hour. and yet you already claim that William is your only hope. Don't give up. Don't let yourself believe something is your last hope. The only time you know you have no other hope is when you're buried without breathe in your lungs. Research. Watch videos. Play a bunch of chess against aggressive players. There's always hope for those who seek.

  • Yayy, I'm latvian.

  • Awesome videos, Will Stewart.

  • Latvian attack against a Latvian GM. Nice, Mr. Krasenkow! Wonderful rook sac.

  • Hello,

I have discovered your channel from one "thechesswebsite" and I love your format and wide variety of games like 960, blitz, interviews, reviews etc.

Liked and subscribed, keep it up!

  • @Sam712630

    ????? Why Kh8, why not Kf8

Also, I think you are looking at the line incorrectly better is:

    1 .... Qxd4 2. Bxf5 (as you proposed), Qxd2+ 3. Rxd2, Rxd2 4. Kxd2????, exf5. In this position the knight check does nothing, 5. Nh6+ Kf8 --- Not Kh8, I don't see why Black needs to play his king there.

  • Hi guys,

Fixed the interview link: make sure to check out the interview, we programmed a new drop-down list that has all the interviews listed neatly at the beginning and end of every GM interview article :-)

Also make sure to subscribe, we have now surpassed 3,000! Let's get to 4,000

  • Realmente brutal. Sveshnikov debió haberse quedado helado cuando le jugaron Qe2!!

  • Awesome game!

  • I will try to do that Latvian attack and see what happens

  • at 3:30 why doesn't Qxd4 work? I know White has checks with Nh6 and Nf6 but these don't look decisive to me.
