call me crazy but that Conical Drag Pump at the beginning actually gave me an idea for a different type of ramjet engine. instead of a closed intake with ignition of fluids at the exhaust, an engine forcing energy into a condensed conical shape would increase thrust capacity and yielding better variant to thrust ratio. that's really interesting, perhaps even a fundamental prototype system for a low yield FTL drive.

I think the most obvious exlination is that the insecticides they use are killing the bees.. I have noticed dead and dying bees much more often in recent years, crawling over the pavement/roads of my city in Dundee, Scotland. I have noticed a big difference from say 18 years ago.
