  • thumbs up if you see a bass in the vid!

  • Thanks man, i appreciate everyone on youtube that takes the time to show off their skills. Yours is by far the easiest one for me to understand. That being said, i'm not downing the other guitar lesson videos. Thanks to all.

  • thank you very much! I learnt it!)

  • Hmm... Dust in the Wind, maybe a little?

  • @851852093114208513 Hey there, "Dust In The Wind" is already a Premium Song Lesson on my main website. :)

  • @GuitarLessons365Song No, I mean the song sounds exactly like something else I've heard, that was a shot in the dark. Although the A-minor, A-7(?). Asus4 thing is the same.

  • @851852093114208513 OH I get it. Yeah true, both of those songs contain a liberal use of sus chords throughout. :)

  • @851852093114208513 you know this sounds like " i promised my self". there´s a lot of different versions of that song though

  • Great vid.

Really simple explained , really good quality

  • Excellently explained.

  • Cool , kind of thought the Time signature was 6/8 wish I could leave out that second strum , it's there in my head.

I do add the F# at the last of the E chord.

Been learning the seasonal song over a month,

In most list this song come in the top ten.

The Eagles and U2 Xmas songs make most top ten list..

    Cool

  • @steveo27545 "Happy Xmas War is Over " is in 12/8 i.e compound quadruple meter...try slowly counting in 4 ..each of the 4 beats in each bar is divided into groups of triplet eighth notes...thus 12 x eighth notes per bar...yes the bar is Esus4 , E , Eadd9 , E as you have implied.

    Happy Xmas steveo..

  • @tweedmusic

Yeah I could really take a few more drumming lesson.. 3/4 speed up is how I look at 6/8 when I hear 12/8, I think cool old blues.shuffle feel,

Seems you can count one two over and over as a guitarist and stay in time.

    Merry Christmas to you .

  • @steveo27545 The top number tells you how many beats in the bar and the bottom number tells you what type of beats they are...3/4 = Simple Triple Time = 3 x 1/4 beats per bar , the first beat being the strong beat ,counted 1 2 3....1 2 3 feel etc.. 6/8 = Duple Compund Time = 2 groups of triplet quavers , so yes.. you do count 6/8 in 2 beats usually.. 1 2 3 4 5 6 becomes 1+a 2+a feel.

    To be continued...

  • @tweedmusic 12/8 you count in 4 and that's exactly what a cool old blues shufflle is my friend...1+a 2+a 3+a 4+a...you know the feel..see ya back at the 365 ranch partner !! As you say if you know the feel you will stay in time..yo don't think ...you feel...the main thing with keeping in time is knowing the difference between Simple Time 2/4 3/4 4/4 and Compund Time 3/8 6/8 12/8...groups of 3's....in some celtic or irish folk music you get 9/8...

  • @tweedmusic in some celtic or irish folk music you get 9/8...sorta gets more complicated after that with Time Signatures with the top number being 5 or 7 or whatever....i.e "Take Five" Dave Brubeck = 5/4 Money Pink Floyd = 7/4 , Common Time = 4/4 = most popular music..a doubling of the speed in Marches etc = duple meter , = 2/2 and is called "alla breve" or "cut common time". Phew !!!! I'm pooped have to have a cuppa and put on some strings to practice Carl's drills !!! Take Care Steveo ...tweed

  • @steveo27545 Hey Steveo read my response to you from bottom post to top...cheers tweed
