  • ahhhh...

  • Beautiful.

  • This hymn is still performed in communities where retired railroaders are found. I have heard it sung at more than one funeral in Terre Haute, Indiana.

  • The three angels in the booth are now in heaven. Anita, Helen and June now making music with Johnny up there.

  • I *love* Marc O'Connor's fiddle tone....oh WOW; he reminds me of how my uncle plays....just gorgeous!!!

  • wILL ALWAYS lOVE jOHN AND jUNE, also THe Carters. It was a Blesssing to have June and her family stand by and Love him to.

  • one of my teachers is related to johnny cash!

  • This is a really great album, from start to finish - just outstanding.

  • Johnny never left hes just teaching angles to sing

  • Johnny, June and Roy Husky Jr...missed and not forgotten any time soon.

  • thumbs up for not only Johnny, but Earl Scruggs, half of the best banjo team who ever picked Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs.

  • I remember clips from this session, but never saw this song! Is this on DVD? I especially love Johnny Cash and anything he sings!

  • I remember clips from this session, but never saw this song! Is this on DVD?

  • 3 Atheists MISSED the TRAIN.

  • Earl is the man! I been listening to him for 50 yrs, trying to play like him for 35 years and he still blows me away.

  • He was actually a member of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys so a founder in bluegrass

  • I would like to know what June meant by the Clyde Moody remark. He was a country singer in the 40s and 50s.

  • Johnny sounds good, and Earl's banjo sounds awesome!

  • Fantastic! That's how the pros do it.

  • They played this last night on deadliest catch for Phil's death at the end.

  • Great song..Thaks for recording this mighty gospel song Johnny..your gospel music touched a lot of people I'm sure!!! Thaks for posting!!!

  • That's a shame they didn't do all 4 verses and wasted time by just playing the instruments. It's like they were ashamed of the other verses or afraid people would be offended by them.

  • When done by the very best, instrumental breaks are NEVER a waste of time.

  • @pacnorthwesterner Instrumentals are not a waste of time when you have some of the all-time greats like Earl Scruggs doing them. Shame on you!

  • @pacnorthwesterner Psa 150:3-6 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

  • What a great behind the scenes video. Thanks so much. Our band "Rolling Thunder", just did this song as part of a two song gospel set along with "Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross, at a recent C&W show in Houghton, Michigan. It's always a great song to perform and to hear, especially when it's done by greats like Johnny and Earl. Thanks again for the video.

  • This Is One Of My All Time Favorite Gospel Songs Noone Sang & Played It Better Than Johnny Cash & Earl Scruggs.

  • Amazing! I love it! Johnny Cash and Earl Scruggs! My favorites! :D

  • Im really drawn to this song, love it!

  • R.I.P to the legends

  • The invitation of Matthew 22 has been issued and can be found at propheciesDOTorg

    Receive! Believe! And ASK!!!!

  • =D.

  • There will never another session such as this and all the NGDB "Unbroken" albums. John Carter Cash produced another simular album after the passing of June and Johnny but the Dirt Bands Unbroken Circle albums are nothing but perfection of the masters. May they rest in peace one and all June,Mother Maybell,Johnny,Roy Acuff et all. Thanks for the posting a very well done contribution!

  • And Earl Scruggs, master of the 5 string, is still alive and still performing!

  • Does anyone happen to know who it is playing the fiddle in this video?

  • VASSAR CLEMENTS

  • Mark O' Conner is playing fiddle

  • Mark O'Connor on fiddle. That's what is says on the album sleeve. Vassar would have been quite a bit older at the time....

I love how Earl stays so cool through the whole song. I've always loved this song but never saw the video until n ow.

  • I love it like this - just the way it went down. What a wonderful from some of the masters of Folk - Country artistry. It just doesn't get any better!

  • johnny you were a good man i miss not meeting you in person

  • This type of Gospel music crosses over the barrier and gets through to those people who probably never give a thought to our Saviour. Melody and words are the greatest tools in the Salvation Factory.

  • @vocalist1952 : I love this music. It does touch your heart. It was inspired, informed and motivated by faith. But, as hard as I try, all I see and hear is nothing but wonderful humans left alone to deal with life's sorrows & joys - nothing more.

  • mighty fine fiddle playing

  • Two of my musical heroes: Earl Scruggs and Johhny Cash! Great video.

  • Sweet Mother of Pearl, the one that can pick is EARL!

  • This is one of the best videos ever

  • My Goodness. "Show us the intro, Earl." That is the man who invented the style, folks, the great Earl Scruggs. I love this!!!

  • The origin of this song is murky. Eliza R. Snow may have written the original lyrics, with M. E. Abbey (a Baptist minister in Georgia in the 1890s) supplying the chorus. There is a similar poem/hymn by Snow, called Truth Reflects upon Our Senses, which Tillman put to this same tune in 1909. HTH's.

  • Do You Know who wrote this song: "Lifes Railways to Heaven"?

  • Eliza R. Snow wrote the original lyric's in the late 1800's and a baptist minister in Georgia supplied the chorus, his name was M.E. Abbey. The scripture it's referring too is from psalms 48:14.

  • is this availible on dvd anywhere

  • Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - "Will the Circle be Unbroken"

  • Have to agree a great version as is willie nelson and patsy clines version both beautiful

  • I haven't heard willie nelson, but, I have heard patsy clines, and it is good - it's got a great feel.

  • This is great! Probably the best version I've ever heard. Boy, don't I wish I couldn't have actually been there!
