Of course, Adam Lambert! Kris is good, too. Without comparing, he is good. I'm not surprised that he won. But compared to Adam, Kris is terrible. Adam is way way better. Adam's version has passion, which Kris' version lacks. Kris sounds disinterested, like someone asked him to sing it at a wedding or something but he really didn't want to. When you hear Adam sing this song, he makes you believe every word!! Do you really have to ask who did it better?

i think both versions are amazing.

kris' version is more, "calm", and it really makes me feel good and "chill".

on the other hand, adam's version makes me feel really touched by the lyrics. he pushes teh message of teh song and the lyrics more powerfully than kris' in my opinion.

I don't like this song, but I think the lyrics and arrangement fit much better in the Adam's version... this song would be a "great song" and the powerful voice of Adam match perfectly with it. I think Kris (a cute guy) hasn't the powerful in his voice for this song... then his only way to sing this song is smooth, but is because he hasn't voice.

Musically, the melody suits both boys but I think the lyrics fit Adam better because he HAS been hanging in there for so long trying to get into the music business. And the arrangement of Adam's version is so much more epic--sounds triumphal like the winner's anthem should be. Kris's is good by itself too but side-by-side, Adam's is a bit more impressive, IMO. Love both of them though~
