  • I really enjoyed this movie! It's kinda horror-y but not too much, and even though I'm not religious at all I love watching and learning things about religion. The main character is also pretty hot :)

  • Now I'm going to be freaked out by cats :\

  • Is it just me, or does the seminary student look like a combination between Dermot Mulroney and Jake from Sixteen Candles?

  • bigJ09z and JoeNietzsche... wow. lol. that was an epic exchange of words :O the best i've ever seen between an atheist and a believer of God XD

  • Anthony Hopkins can read the phone book and make it sound scary

  • Lecter!

  • Bram Stoker's Dracula music!

  • Hogwash!! 1000% of it..

  • I read an article about the story this is actually based on and apparently it's somewhat accurate. So now I want to see it. Although I will probably spend the rest of my life sleeping with the lights on O.o

  • I for one believe true evil walks this Earth. Call it whatever you want but I have personally witnessed it. Anthony Hopkins looks brilliant in this role.

  • I for one believe true evil walks this Earth. Call it whatever you want but I have personally witnessed it.

  • fuck that!!!

  • It took a 2 week detox, plenty of water, exercise, vitamin C and Milk Thistle to exorcise that memory........... blllluuuurrrrggghhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I was possessed by a demon once. I went out on a Saturday, drank approx 12 pints of lager, some sambuca, goldschlager & vodka and red bull to keep me going. Ended up with dodgy bird in some sketchy flat. I felt EVIL for days man..........

  • that's the music from Dracula.

  • I'll see this just because of Sir Anthony Hopkins :)

  • can't stand to watch that movie, I believe its a good movie but too for me to watch!

  • I'll be renting this one :)

  • I really cannot stand when movies like these claim to be based on true events.

    My fucking ASS.

  • esta muvie seve k viene fantaticas

  • Demon possession movies usually are crap, but this one looks pretty good.

  • this shit isn't a joke, i've seen something like this with my own eyes....be scared be very scared.

  • @moonbears

No, this "shit" isn't a joke, it's a well documented phenomenon commonly known as mental illness. There is zero evidence for demonic possession (or god / devil - but that’s another issue). It is important to note that while such topics are great fun in movies and it adds to the atmosphere of a film to say that it is "based" on real events, it is necessary to point out that, for example, Tolkien's Middle Earth was based on real events - WWI & II - but that hardly makes it factual.

  • @JoeNietzsche As Steve martin said atheists sing the blues lol thank goodness im not one :)

  • @bigJ09z

Well, the conceptual alternative to singing the blues (mental illness) here is the notion that Beelzebub might choose to wear you as a meat suit. If that were possible then Im not sure what you'd be thankful for as it would be your god that made such a thing possible in the first place. Id think youd be a bit annoyed that god included that particular possibility in his design plan when he constructed demons and humans in the first place. But each to their own, I suppose.

  • @JoeNietzsche Its a rather controversial subject as it has always has been i think. Although its not shocking that a person would call possession mental illness. It doesn't answer much though just saying mental illness

  • @bigJ09z

There's absolutely nothing controversial about it. Possession is a myth manufactured by Stone Age peoples to explain things they did not understand - as are gods, devils, fairies and unicorns. However, if you have some evidence to the contrary I'm sure there are any number of science oriented organizations that would be thrilled to examine it for you.

  • @JoeNietzsche Ahh ive heard that before from a lot of athiests but you have no proof of that of course. I wouldn't call possession a myth it happens however you seem to think you know better :P. Im not impressed by most athiest arguments I feel like im talking to a immature child most of the time with a ego bigger then the state of texas. Now since you can't prove its a myth we'll leave it at that im certain science can answer everything :P You say it as if it is fact and it isn't

  • @bigJ09z

You have made a fundamental error in reasoning. I have no evidence (other than the absolute lack of evidence for a god) because I have not made claim FOR anything – I have simply rejected the claims of others because they have not provided any support for their assertions. Although, I suppose one could say that void counts as evidence for a negative claim on god’s existence.

You know what? I think I will.

Thanks, BigJ, this has now been a productive exchange.

  • @JoeNietzsche That I can respect however I don't respect the attacking of christians. I have heard the no support or evidence argument before. It gets annoying though after you have heard it several million times by religious atheists which most of youtube are. not saying you are but most just shooting off the same old name calling and science talking points all the time. Your a evangelical atheist and I think atheism is a religion just a religion that says it isn't a religion.

  • @bigJ09z

Proving a negative (i.e.: "prove there is no god") is near impossible in the best of circumstances. Let me illustrate this with a fun one – Can anyone prove that Star Wars didn’t really happen a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away? Maybe George Lucas was channelling the ghost of Luke – and maybe he is sworn never to reveal it.

Insisting someone prove a negative, as such, is revealing – and not in a good way like mini-skirts. It’s also how we get things like scientology.

  • @bigJ09z

Atheism is a lack of belief – where you find behaviour that you dislike in atheists, you are actually responding to something other than their atheism. Maybe some are just jerks and they like upsetting people. I’m sure some are. And I’m sure others are anti-theists and have a real agenda to push against theists. And others are probably angry at the various things that have been done in the name of Christianity. - [see next]

  • @JoeNietzsche Not really most atheists on the net are millitant atheists they are as religous if not more then most christians ive seen. If I remember correctly religion was around long before science but thats not PC these days though to say it. Atheism is a religion to me and it acts a lot like one a lot of the time also im assuming you think adults who believe in god aren't rational then. Im not sure a atheist has a right to talk about being rational in anyway shape or form.

  • @bigJ09z

Well, technically, its not. If you want to call it a religion I suppose you're free to but it doesn’t fit semantically. It’s a bit like calling people that don't vote or otherwise take part in politics a political party.

As for atheists being militant – nah, just the ones that are. Most keep it to themselves – which is why you don’t hear from them.

  • @JoeNietzsche That is a good point unfortunately most of the one's ive seen are millitant internet atheists. most are pretty evangelical as well it seems im not a atheist evidence is subjective to me. The whole evidence thing is subjective and it kills the word evidence everytime I hear a atheist use it. I could say atheists are irrational as well because they say it like its a fact and it is far from a fact. This isn't the first debate ive had with a atheist. Also the talking points bore me.

  • @bigJ09z

There is no evidence for atheism, subjective or otherwise because it is not an argument. Atheism is a rejection of the claim made by theists. Thus the “a” in front of the word theism. Which means without or lacking in theism. It’s kinda like if you said, “hey, there’s a big gorilla on the roof” and I went outside to look and seeing no gorilla, I declared, “nope, no gorilla”. You might say, “Hell, yes there is”, making you a gorillaist and me an agorillaist. Get it?

  • @JoeNietzsche Well I give you credit for not being rude and name calling like meny atheists have done. Too bad some think that is the way to go.

  • @JoeNietzsche So im guessing being a atheist is a great way to call yourself a asshole right?? Cause I don't see any logic in atheism :P maybe a fool's logic but that's about it and saying God doesn't exist because I say so isn't logic its a statement :P

  • @bigJ09z

Hi, BigJ, did you spot something you missed last month?

The situation is actually very simple. Theists make a series of claims about the nature of the universe. Atheists reject those claims as unsubstantiated. If you wish to get into the specifics – please do so. From there I'd be happy to go over the logic involved, step by step, with you. Oh yes, one other thing; let’s keep things civil, shall we?

  • @bigJ09z

Nope, not saying people that believe in god aren’t rational – they may be very disciplined thinkers in other areas of their lives. However, most folks compartmentalize things, religious and non-religious alike. What I am saying is that when it comes to belief in god, yes, then they are being irrational. To accept any claim without sufficient evidence is an irrational act. Most of the time it doesn’t matter but some times it really does.

  • @bigJ09z

The list of possible motivators goes on and on. All atheism amounts to is the rejection of the claim that there is a god. That’s it. Anything else is something else.

  • @bigJ09z

And oh yes, no credible scientist would ever claim that science can provide all the answers. No rational adult would either. When one becomes familiar with the scientific method, often, the first thing one must do is get comfortable, very comfortable with the words; “I don’t know”.

  • Jesus that movie look very good!!!

  • I hope the movie is going to be as gooooood as the trailer.

  • Huah, they took the "Dracula" theme, cool. The movie looks good but I hope Hopkins won't put on his Hannibal face to often... :o)

  • Anthony Hopkins...In "Meet Jow Black", he dies at the end. And now in this movie...he becomes possesed. Awesome!

    (Thumbs up if you agree)

  • @gilpatrickb - That is, indeed, Rutger Hauer. Too bad he's in a movie labeled as based on/taken from/inspired by true events - that's normally code for "this film has nothing redeeming of its own, so we'll go with the true life angle and hope we break even before people realize it's actually shit."

  • 2:12 is that Rutger Howard?!

  • What are the odds this turns out anti-Catholic/Christian? Better than 70/30?

  • @ECMIM It isn't.

  • Really? You need to steal from the Dracula Soundtrack, another movie Hopkins was in where he faced "great evil"? (slow clap)

  • why its it always about exorcisms.....

  • @baubrey1001

What do you mean hot tub time machine was not about exorcist. Or do you mean why is a exorcist movie about exorcism? I don't get it.

  • @TonyFbaby87 Scary/Horror Movies nowadays are always about Exorcists. There is only so much you can do with those kind of stories. Anthony Hopkin is a good actor. I'd watch this movie for him.

  • Propaganda

  • This movie is going to be great!!! :)

  • OMG GONNA BE FUCKIN AWESOME!!!! TRUE EVENTS??? OMFG
