  • @livedrainer9 No, strNpwrKC is right. Only the first game has Legacy of Kain as a sub-title. Mainly because there was no plans for a sequel at the time or plans to make it into a series. It was the later games, starting with Soul Reaver that had Legacy of Kain come first in the title to mark it as a series. So the correct title of the first game is in fact Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.

  • I remember back when Soul Reaver came out that because Tony Jay did the voice of Mortanius, then the Elder God (which came back to bite them in the rear in Defiance), me and my friends had all these crazy theories on how they were the same being in some way.

  • Mortanius sounds badass :)

  • That nigga unleashed the demons on him.

  • @smoking1212 lol, that was some intense overkill

  • electrocuting him wasn't enough. he had to throw him against the pillar an break his back. nai i will embrace it. i love it.

  • i just love it. in most of the death cutscenes, there's always someone who comments "i wish diablo 3 was like that". this game is timeless

  • I don't know why, but I really liked Mortanius. You come to this, and it's like, "NO! Let me kill Moebius again!"

  • @elhona

Agreed. Also, all things considered, he's about the most of a "good guy" there is in the series, besides Janos ...

  • Just an FYI, it's Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. Not the other way around.

  • @strNpwrKC the whole series is called Legacy of Kain there is no series called Blood Omen, it's just part of the title, Legacy of Kain even comes first on the case. And it wouldn't make sense for just the first game to have the Legacy of Kain part stated last when the other four have Legacy of Kain stated first!

  • Well WHEN the next LOK comes out, eventually, I say the next VA for elder god should be Keith David. He has that Bass in his voice that could shake even the most hardened of mortal men and vampire alike. That he was Goliath in Gargoyles... Badass

  • Mortanius = Darth Sidious

  • mortanuis sounds like the elder god

  • That's because they're both voiced by the late Tony Jay.

  • 1:10 that is creepy i wish diablo 3 was like that

  • "Phailed our DYEWTEHS?! EEDEHYAWT!!"

  • Why cant games as cool as this be made anymore? :(

  • @Ninjamonkeypirates That's because there's more attention to the graphic effects ad realism than to the plot and the characters. In my opinion, 2D graphic with great plot and atmosphere can be more enjoyble than a 3D fashion, but senseless game.

  • Has'ak'GEEK!

  • If only Anacrothe knew. The Reason he and the other guardians exist is as a result of the Pillars choosing guardians at birth. This is only and assumption but if the Pillars never existed, Kain would of never existed, Raziel would remain dead and The Vampires would not be cursed by the Hylden. So basically if you think about it it's the Vampire that Nosgoth spirals into desulation.

  • Nope, Raziel would die old cuz his future self wouldn't come back and kill him. o.O

  • thats true but look at the alternative. The war between the vampires and the Hylden would still be waging and the hylden could very well have won.

  • fatality

  • is the actor for the elder god the same guy who played Mortanius

  • Sure is!

  • Tony Jay

    voice acting legend

    R.I.P

  • INVISIBLE BACKBREAKER

  • Imagine if he had used a Backburner?

  • Mortanius is awesome.

  • In the next video i meant

  • You see the hylden lord for the first time

  • As if the Pillars of Nosgoth existed for the guardians it's they who exist for the pillars.

  • too bad he isnt a boss he's got some badass powers

  • He is - you fight him immediately after this cutscene, actually.

  • if only theyd redo the games with better graphics people would pay the extra to play them again with new beauty

  • lol? Force Lightning?

  • Well, this game is damn old, what did you expect? It's PS1 ...

  • Exactly. But even with that kind of... defficiences (which were not so, by the time it was released -1997-), this game was the first of the Legacies, and thus provided the foundation of one of the greatest gameplots ever created. D.R.

  • Agreed. Also, if you played all the games, you will notice the style of them quite changed a bit. Look at the voice acting - in this game, it was very medieval-like, compare that to Defiance ...

  • if the voice acting was that bad, why would they keep the same cast for the entire series. even though it does actually seem that you are actually referring to the script itself, as opposed to the acting. mortanius at this point in his last moment of sanity wished to die, so that the circle of nine could be replaced, and the pillars restored. It should also be pointed out that the phraze "finish me" sounds a heck of a lot better that "kill me"

  • Mortanius sounds like the Elder God ..thats confusing unless you know what's going on O_o

  • hahah yeah but tony jay was so much better as the elder god

  • Are they the same character? I'm not talking about the voice actor

  • Kain: If the Circle is to be destroyed you have to die as well necromancer, I admire your cunning but you will not escape your fate!

I love that line, Kain has the best voice in videogames.

  • Shit man talk about overkill ECW! ECW! ECW!

  • I was confused with Mortanius and the Elder god as they have the same voice. Mortanius' image changes in Legacy of Kain Defiance.

  • Yeah, I was confused too for a while. They just decided to change voices I guess.

  • Yeah Tony Jay does have a voice like a god as he voiced many villains.

  • Ty for all the hard work, Joudas :)

  • Wow, the guy that looked the most like a bad guy wasn't so bad after all :)

  • I can never find the damned picture of Nupraptor sewing his eyes shut

  • why did vorador never attack mortanius?

  • He wasn't there when he killed the other circle members. Not sure where he was though.

  • cool voice mortanius

  • Mortanious was voiced by Tony Jay back then, but when he voiced as the Elder God they had to change the voice of Mortanious in Defiance so it wouldn't confuse you thats all.

  • XD Kain's reaction to Anarcrothe flying straight towards the pillar is hillarious

  • Tony Jay was cast as Mort in BO1 before there was an Elder God. They brought him back in the SR stories because his voice is just that awesome, but by Defiance, they had to cast someone else as Mort as not to confuse.

  • tony jay voiced the elder god and mortanius so well, I'll miss him... r.i.p :.) sir jay

  • Because they are voiced by the same people

  • Why does Mortanious sound like the Elder God?

  • You can't see it! Its to dark! >.<
