Perhaps you don't understand the concept of open source.
Open source means you can read the actual source code, so you know EXACTLY what it's gonna do. It's the closed source you have to worry about, because you can't know what the hell it's doing.

Linux is open source MS windows is closed like 99% of commerical software..but a good disasembler will work nicely if u know what u r doing..in the old 8 bit days it was easy to modify computer programs and many people did but due to the huge bloat of software today it's a big job..hell even MS can't fix their own stuff it's become so unwieldy

I dowloaded and installed Linux from another Windows computer in my house, and although it takes some studying, I face almost NO ads at all while surfing the web. It's very customizable. I have Ubuntu Studio. Fuck You Microsoft!

Yeah I miss the games on Windows, but the games you can find on Linux are all very easy to find and install IF you use the Software Center. Limited selection, but ease of use, kinda like all Apple's stuff :0)
And Wine helps, linux's windows compatibility layer. Plus, you can build almost any program from tar, deb, etc. files, which is where it gets complicated. Meh, just keeps most of us honest, as this often entails infringing copyrights on a less tolerable level anyway.

I run linux on four machines and am currently downloading two more operating systems to check lol. My wife detest windblows. Western Digital passport harddrives (pop out the sata drive from enclosure if u dare) works great in newer machines. Just pop a drive out and another into you're machine, bingo, a different OS. You can even move drives from machine to machine.I do it in about 30 seconds, Good thing about Linux, you can spoof the machine mac address lol :P

For the past two days, I have been struggling with a horrible trojan. While trying to clean out my PC, I noticed that even though I deleted my temporary internet files several times, there are still THOUSANDS of files in there. Not only that, but M$ REALLY hides those temp internet files. And even if you DO find and manage to delete the files, every site you have EVER typed into the IE address bar is STORED in the registry. We must ask why...

Have all "file slack" overwritten (cleaned) and also "free space" must be cleansed, empty all "temp" folders you find in the same manner, some sites makes "super-cookies" (YouTube does) that contains much more information than regular cookies, shred them too (overwrite several times with garble and then delete).
You may also get a "registry cleaner" but read about all this first, many are malware.

Microsoft has provided the government a backdoor password that allows them to bypass the security settings and use your computer to spy on you. 1 technique to determine if your computer has been compromised is by updating your windows through Microsoft update. If the government has changed your settings they wont allow the update to go through as that will erase their work.

For the past two days, I have been struggling with a horrible trojan. While trying to clean out my PC, I noticed that even though I deleted my temporary internet files several times, there are still THOUSANDS of files in there. Not only that, but M$ REALLY hides those temp internet files. And even if you DO find and manage to delete the files, every site you have EVER typed into the IE address bar is STORED in the registry. We must ask why...

@carriellbee Get a "file shredder" and see to it that you also get all "empty" files shredded.
Have all "file slack" overwritten (cleaned) and also "free space" must be cleansed, empty all "temp" folders you find in the same manner, some sites makes "super-cookies" (YouTube does) that contains much more information than regular cookies, shred them too (overwrite several times with garble and then delete).
You may also get a "registry cleaner" but read about all this first, many are malware.
