  • A lot of British fans here seem to be upset that Marriott didn't turn out like Paul Weller, i.e. still obsessed with his hairstyle and clothes beyond the years of his youth. But I think you're fundamentally overlooking what kind of personality Steve was. He wasn't in the least bit self-conscious, this is what made him such a charismatic presence in front of an audience. To be concerned with what you look like all the time requires a degree of self-consciousness that he simply didn't have.

  • this will always be one of my favorite songs by Steve gawd he could rock it

  • One of the best rock and roll voices. He stands alone.

  • Really good Rhythm guitar player that Mr Marriot-and the voice is self explanatory

  • Steve was off the hook. very genuine. no poseur here, just tight rock and roll for anyone who wanted to hear it. Always liked Jerry's drum work too !!

  • All that outta barely Five Feet!!! Always an AMAZING Showman. Did a show here in Clevo Ohio USA shortly before He left Us. Told storys of wanting to watch Football, but NO Tellie. Heads to Framptons House (now on the Saturday Night Fever/Comes Alive Wave), Mum & Dad live with Pete and Mum answered the door..."No He's NOT in, be gone Ruffians!!" Grumbling back to the Pub and crane a neck....Thank You Steve Marriott......PEACE

  • I met Steve in Houston, TX after they did a show at a small bar. Steve had a killer voice and a fantastic rock-n-roll spirit! Steve forever! Rock On!

  • i love frampton, but this band sounds great as a 3 piece, this is raw rock &roll at it's best! the guitar playing is exelent!

  • marriott improved his playing near the end of is life,at my own taste he's as good as frampton or even better!

  • MARRIOTT.

  • What a tight outfit these guys were. I for one always seem to overlook Steves accomplished playing, probably because I'm so mesmorised with his unique voice, sadly missed.

  • Yes it does break every fans heart. We have to remember that the guy was a one off and at least we can still listen to his music. Nearly twenty years after his death he is still the greatest unsung hero of the rock and roll world and always will be!!! Thanks Steve you will always bring a smile to my face.

  • breaks my heart

  • danm Steve had the best voice in rock

  • woukd people be happier if he dressed like a queer ?

  • Why did the Stones not have the stones to rock like this?

  • @upthecreek34 Keith wanted him in but told him one thing: don't open your mouth. Well...that ought to give you a hint.

  • Fuck yeah!

  • who gives a f**k what he is wearing for god sake flea from the chillis played a trumpet solo wearing a nappy on stage its all about the music KTF

  • Bloody FANTASTIC!!! Music does not get any better than this. Other singers can try but they will never come close to the mind blowing, legendary musician the one and only STEVE MARRIOTT!!!

  • Dynamic - powertrio - soulful - great sense of a groove - standards played the way they should. Ladies & Gentlemen : MR STEVE MARIOTT. Wooaahh.

  • Wooooooooohooooooooo!!!

  • Who even cares about his overalls?? Why is that such a big deal? Personally, when I see Steve performing here, sounding so good and having such a fun time, his overalls are the LAST thing on my mind. How can you say he is not good looking here? :/ When he smiles, his whole face lights up. I think he is adorable.

  • whats the big issue with his image the main point of view is his music the guy was a legend !

  • In 1987 I Roadied for Steves "Packet of Three" named after Trojan condoms packaging of 3 condoms per pack. And he,Jerry and Bob Leverton (bass & Vocals) were a fun bunch of English blokes and it just killed me that he died the way he did,Almost the exact same way Jack Cassidy(the actor) did,

  • Go to our channel and listen to the guitar solo on our version of All or Nothing - right hand side of screen.

  • The greatest white soul singer that ever lived.

  • This was 1985 so the dungarees could have been spandex. I'll take the overalls over the spandex any day. Count your blessings!

  • In the 60s Marriot had the perfect pixie like looks that were the fashion of the time in this video he looks like Keith Chegwin.

  • I own this DVD ^_^

  • I want this whole packet of 3 on my MP3

  • Steve marriott mod till he died. The dungerees were a side order.

    Thanks Steve for the music.

  • arthur lee was another great who died recently! along with steve marriot the greatest ever singers in rock n roll!! both underappreciated!!!

  • I saw them, they were shit hot!

  • Anybody got lyrics?

  • kanemura93 cont-The dungarees were hideous and he knew it BUT his true fans and I include myself as I saw the Small Faces live and have followed Steve's voice and talent ever since will not be put off. I hate how he looks he even has a hideous haircut another way of detracting but his voice, spirit and talent are too good to miss. I am sad that he died too soon and on the verge of a reunion with Peter Frampton. The airwaves are the sadder without any new music from this exceptional talent.

  • @minimadalison marriott is fuckin cool in these cloths

  • Tundraclap - watch and listen to Steve with his first band The Small Faces - in particular Tin Soldier - he will blow you away as will the whole band - they are all terrific. I saw them in 1965 and have always listened to him including this. I have rebought some of the small faces on line and have loaded them to my iPod shuffle as I only have the 45s and LPs - old stuff now and well worn out. You won't be disappointed. Alison

  • Just listen to this guy, pure talent. What a loss when Steve went, nobody could touch him then or now.

  • It depresses me the thought that there is no musicians like steve around these days, and probably never will. I'm too young to have experienced them first hand when they were still around, but I can try my hardest to cling onto any great sounds I find.

    Tundra

  • he was fun to work with seriously intense but there was a touch of mischief he always had. I miss that silly grin and laugh he always had. gawd he could sing and always played his ass off be a small club or a concert hall.

  • Awesome!

  • I DIG.

  • long live steve in our rockin roll lives

  • I never realized that Steve was such an accomplished guitarist.

  • sad that this is the closest that I or anyone now will get to see Marriott live.

  • thats was fuckin cool!

humble pie was and always will be my favorite band, but i love the

packet of threes too! Thanks man.

  • Thanks! :-)

    Best Regards- Thomas

  • I thought I knew music, but I knew squat! This is awesome! Thanks for the post

  • Fantastic. Edge has nothing on Steve's guitar plaing. Bono would be embarrased to follow this guy.

Steve Mariott: great guitarist unmatched singer. Tina Turner wishes she could crank out searing vocals as good as this.

    Bill

  • Hab die Jungs dreimal live erlebt und kann mich nicht erinnern jemals danach wieder einen derartigen Power-live-Sound gehört zu haben.

    Die waren abartig gut ...

  • I wonder why Steve would wear those clothes...he's awesome though, and I love him!

  • kanemura93 -Steve as I am sure you will know was the lead singer with the Small Face-1965ish and was fashionable for the time. However, Steve only ever wanted to be known for his music and as time went on he broke away from the Small Faces, as you know and formed Humble Pie and so on. It is my opinion that he particulary wanted to disassociate himslef from 'looking good, looking cute, looking anything really' because he only wanted people to listen/watch him for his music only.

  • I love this song. I've got a Humble Pie CD in my truck. Too bad we lost him.

  • Lyrics?

  • steve marriott was the finest singer in the 60's

was in a group in the 60's. Small faces songs always appreciated.

Saw pack of three in the 80's in oxford,

joe brown was in the audience got on stage with steve.

    Brilliant.

All or fuck all is the best song.

    Brilliant

  • This was a concert from Camden Town. It was brodcast on Mike Mansfield's show. I've got the whole gig on video

  • P of 3, probably the best incarnation of all Steve's bands. He was long enough in the tooth and free to be blues creative without other band members whinging. Gained so much experience by this time.

  • Thank God this one exists!! Marriott was one of the most talented and underrated artists in the genre. Saw him twice. I've missed him. This guy could blow off every hair band of the eighties, grunge band of the nineties and all the heavy rockers that followed. Truly superb and unique. And thank BloozeRockJunky for posting it.

  • You are SO, SO right. No one, but no one touches Steve. I just love this guy.

  • luv shirley's stand up cymbol crash

    finish note -- ka-BAM

  • can you imagine an alto sax and keyboard on this song it was amazing to work with him.
