  • Oh, sorry. I thought this song was from the second movie. It's been a while since I've watched the triology of Lord of the rings.

  • AWESOME!!

  • Haha, they thought they could get back Osgiliath with type 30 soldiers against 500 Orcs

  • he did it actually just to prove to his father, that he would take Boromirs place, which was his fathers will, even if he was riding into his, and his soldier's death. But I suppose you have seen the movie and knew all of this.

  • If anyone wants this song, you can try to look for Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers in a CD store, under Movie/Soundtracks.

  • Why the soundtrack of The Two Towers, when the song actually appears in Return of the King?

  • He's so good at singing!

    Your Amazing Billy

The world ahead... i love it :x

  • what is the lotr song that is in every moive and sounds a little like bum bum bu bu bum

  • the shire?

  • try "The Road Goes Ever On..."

  • This song is in the third episode The Return of the King right? I cant remember, it drives me crazy!!!

  • yh he sings himself gud tbh seen as he was employed for acting not singing lolz

  • I like at the end, when the cherry juice drips down the King's lips. Nice use of symbolism on their part.

  • Home is behind, The world ahead. And there are many paths to tread. Through shadow.. To the edge of night. Until the stars are all alight. Mist and shadow.. Cloud and shade. All shall fade.. All shall .....fade gives me chilllssss i lovee it!___xxx
  • Hope shall fail, all shall fade.

    Get it right.

  • uhhmm, its actually "All shall fade, all shall fade" :p

  • A common misconception by people who can't listen properly.

It's called "The Edge of Night" by Billy Boyd. The lyrics are as follows:

    Hope Shall Fail

    All Shall Fade

The reason you people do not grasp this is because they sound so similar and other idiots have submitted to lyrics sites what they THINK the real lyrics are. They're on the soundtrack, you're wrong.

Also, take into thought that your version is not poetic, and does not go with the rest of the song, and must therefore be wrong.

  • yea, he did.

i just hate the king, he sent his son to death

  • he wasn't the king he was the steward of the throne (the caretaker) Aragorn is rightful king

  • Did the actor actually sing this? I don't doubt it, but it seems unlikely.

  • He did, actually. He even wrote the melody to it (not the lyrics).

  • yes he did sing it . he went out one evening during filming and did karaoke. then they thought it would be good to put a song in it, where it was just going to be dialogue. he only had like a day or 2 to write the song too.. you can see other videos of him singing. type in bily boyle ;)

  • well it is true,, there acutally does exist some talent in hollywood actor's still.. unbelievably.. but this guy should bet on a songcareer if no more movies/series comes his way;)

  • he didn't write the lyrics Tolkien did in his original storyboard

  • this is a good but sad song.

  • Huh.......I swear I already favorited this But it says I havnt.....well that can quickley be arranged

What most people don't know is that many of the lines from this song are actully in a song Pippin sings in Book 1.....but that song is much happier and Pippin is more child-like

  • I got chills. :D Amazing scene.

  • Beatiful...this song make cry everytime when listen this

  • his voice.. he can reach so high sounds.

    wich i had such a voice =D :O

  • it's like everytime i see this or hear this song i'm getting gooosebumps all over my body!

It's the most perfect scene/moment in all three parts of Lord of the Rings

  • I've seen all three like more than ten times. Its weird considering its not my kind of movies, but it tells a story and its sad. Three hours long each but worth it.

  • The caretaker of the throne is such an ass. He mounts a frontal assault on an entrenched enemy that outnumbers them 10 to 1; causing the demise of scores of Gundorian Knights...

  • this song always makes me cry!! it is so good! i love it because it portrays everything that is happening in the film up to the poin the sings it so well!!

  • Pippin is pimpin =D

    this is a great scene

  • i love this song! its so sad and yet at the same time so beutiful.

  • I agree with you

  • he has a very pretty vioce!!<3

  • Home is behind The world ahead And there are many paths to tread Through shadow To the edge of night Until the stars are all alight Mist and shadow Cloud and shade All shall fade All shall.... fade ..........................
  • great song :)

  • the songs awesome

  • this song gives me chills..

  • so many epic moments happen in ROTK. This song, when Aowen lifts off her helmet to the Black Rider "i am no man!" and of course, "I can;t carry it for you, but i can carry you!"

I have to admit, i fell like crying a lot during the movie, and book, and when Frodo's leaving a i usually do.

  • how about when aragorn tells says, " you bow to no one"

  • I Choose to be a Mortal ......I like that moment also

  • copy it here? :)

  • this song is so awesome its like i want to cry

  • mmmmmmmm.......

    love this.....

its almost my favorite part of this movie.

    but not quite.

when legolas kills the oliphant, thats my favorite part.....

    sexy beast!

  • this is the most epic part of the trilogy!

  • omg i got goosebumps...!! amazin!!!

  • get that ork

  • they need to make it longer ya its amazing i justwish it was longer

  • Might very well be the best part of the entire trilogy.

  • I can't help it. I love this song. Such an amazing voice...

  • beautiful

  • Utterly amazes me that Billy Boyd composed and sang that song himself, and it fits so flawlessly into the movie. It sounds like something Tolkien would have written. Well done, Mr. Boyd. Well done, indeed!

  • WAIT WHOA WHAT?!?! HE composed it HIMSELF?!?! Another reason for me to adore Billy Boyd!!

  • tolkien did wite the lyrics, but the lyrics are just a part of a poem, found in the Fellowship of The Ring

  • actually, it was tolkien that wrote this, not billy boyd...

  • Oh, yes, very true. My bad.

Still, Boyd did compose the notes to which he sang the lyrics. That it worked so well in the movie is quite an accomplishment. Some critics were even saying that this was the best individual scene in the entire film.

  • 00:22 is my SHIT!!!

  • This song is SO AMAZING!!!!!!

  • Love this song. Man I hate the Steward, but Foremiere is awesome.

  • It's 'Faramir' just to be awkward, but thats it :)

  • he is a really good singer! =)

  • goosebumps every time.

  • still love this song

  • i love this song

  • good.

  • i live pippin and the song nice job ^^

  • i

    like this song :)

  • very well done!

  • thats a moment you can't capture in books, thats why it was a brilliant idea to make a movie over the books

  • "Home is behind the world ahead

And there are many paths to tread

Through shadow to the edge of night

Until the stars are all alight.

    Mist and shadow

    Cloud and shade

    All shall fade

    All shall fade"

  • i like orcs

  • I love this song, its great

  • Amazing Omg!

  • Без переводу оно лучше.

  • he makes that chicken taste so good. i want one.

  • I lol'd hard!

  • *~* LOVE~

  • its really amazing!

  • what would hurt more, the crappy, make-shift orc arrows, or the steel arrows or Gondor? like, whould would slinter the second it hit your armor and it would, like, for lack of better word, sliver inside your gut or something

  • i love this song

  • favourite scene in the triology:D

  • way too short

  • Love this song but Denethor is a crazy jackass

  • did e really sing this song???

  • yes

if you want watch hwo its made !!

  • Yes, and composed it.

  • composed it? This is a shorter version of a song that was in the book (sung by all 4 hobbits I think).

  • He didn't write the lyrics, I just meant he made up the tune. That's what Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens said in the Commentry on the DVD.

  • oh, sorry

  • Love this part

  • Beautiful ^w^

  • this song took my virginity

  • ahahahahahhahahahahah

I know he has a kiling voice ,but that !? AHAHA

  • did you have sex with this song ???

  • yea.<_<

  • I love this song!!! the king makes me so mad tho.

  • steward

  • Umm what?

  • hes a steward not a king. u r lykee teh nubz0rz gtfo mai inturw3bz nao kthckzs

  • haha pwnd

  • I love this. the song in itself is emotional, but the most powerful aspect of it is the army, the battle outside, while he stuffs his face, and while poor pippin is practically trapped in there, having to sing, and is scared and doesn't know what's going on.

  • I LOVE Pippin- he's so Cuuute!! As a rule I don't like songs in movies but this was just so beautiful and matched the scene so perfectly I couldn't help but like it! ^^

  • I love this song so much!!!

i cant stop listening to it :)

  • This song give me the goose bumps and makes me sad!! =( his voice is so beutiful and pure!! =(
