i have a reproduction of a knights cross, and i know a guy who has one his grandfather personally received from hitler. neither of us are nazis, just WWII collectors. plus, you cant deny that thing looked badass and the only thing keeping me from wearing it is ill look like an SS soldier.

i have a couple of original signed photo of the the soldier in 3:23, he is called remi schrijen and he was a flemish volunteer in the SS division langemarck. But reading some of the comments i feel i must remind you that some of the soldiers shown were not awarded the medals for bravery but for killing innocent civilians i.e. jews, poles, russians.

I'm American but I always thought the German uniform looked WAY better especially the ribbons and patches on the collars. The Iron Cross is legendary, and I respect both the German soldier and officers during that war. Germany had some of the finest generals in the world, Rommel for instance, and it's just a shame that his honor gets overshadowed by that Nazi crap that people who know nothing of history are so quick to judge on.

Yep, and it's interesting to know that Hitler never trusted the Wehrmacht. He executed some of the best Generals and replaced them by his partially incompetent henchmen. As a German I'm convinced those Generals would have conspired against Hitler sooner or later.

But Germany (Holy Roman Empire) and France used to be one country under Charlemagne. At that time France & Germany were extremely similar.

Only after the end of the middle ages the jews took control of France and we have been at war ever since.

Yes they were both around at the same time (crusades), like other military orders.

The two orders often fought together in the crusades. It was part of the cooperation between the monarchies of Europe. (Main 3 = German, French, and English)

However, Teutonic knights focused less on the crusade against Saracens but more about crusade against slavs (In the east of Europe). Ironically, this was exactly the same objective as the waffen SS which are basically modern teutonic knights
