  • Thanks for your prompt response! So, after a couple of years, how is the Masterbilt holding up? I've just ordered one, after trying the RE model in a shop. Even though it had dead strings, I could tell it might be a winner. I do know it was comfy.

    Cheers,

PoA (aka Glenn F @ HCAG).

  • @PreacherofArrakeen - Hey Glenn! I didn't recognize your non-HCAG name. The Masterbilt continues to treat me well. It never leaves my house so I can't say how well it would hold up as a gigging guitar, but, I feel that it feels solid and it's only gotten better with age... Hopefully, VOM listeners agree ;-)

I will say that I had to play several Masterblits before I found one that had the sound I was looking for. Hopefully, you purchase will treat you well... I'll get a goat ready ;-)

  • Hey Fussenkuh,

I thought the Masterbilts weren't glossy?

  • @PreacherofArrakeen - Funny story: when I was looking to purchase my Masterbilt a few years ago, EVERY store around me had only Glossy models. I actually didn't realize Satin was an option. It wasn't until after I posted videos and got this type of feedback that I realized Satin appeared to be the "normal" finish.

According to the Epiphone website, the AJ-500 comes in NA (Gloss) and NS (Satin) finishes. I guess NA must just be the more rare finish choice?

  • Slash would be pround for this vid

  • I just want to c if this works (i dont want nasty messages cuz its only a test) CHECK OUT MY COVER ON MY CHANNEL!!!

  • Hi .thanks for posting this . I was wondering how you like that guitar ?? I just ordered one but havent played one yet :( I kinda took a chance so was wondering what you thought about it .Thanks again

  • Hey, thanks for checking out the video. I hope you enjoyed it :)

As for my Masterbilt, I love it! However, there are two things worth noting: (1) I actually played through 3-4 of them at the store before I found one that sounded really good (at least to my ears). The others weren't bad, but, they weren't fantastic either. (2) I ended up taking it to a guitar luthier to have the guitar set up correctly. That setup made a TON of difference in the playability of the guitar.

  • its hard to get these cheap imports to intonate properly, its not his falt.. the guitar is firewood

  • Great performance!!!!!

  • Hey please!

Can you give me the tabs of the guitar solo?

    :D

  • are all you people fucking pissed the guitars way out of tune and it sounds fucking SHIT...

  • I love this! I had lots of fun playing over it with my electric

  • nice video

  • what are your stings tuned to?

  • Thw G string is drop-D i think

  • its jsut a normal drop d :)

    D A D G B E

    instead of

    E A D G B E

    :) hope that help ;D

  • nice work man!! checkout my cover of this song too... i tried to do it a litle bit differently...

  • Great, loved it. Well done mate.

  • Some weird noise on the verses.. like there's tin foil between your fretboard and the strings. Well played, but that sound kinda ruined it for me.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I think what you are hearing is due to the fact that I just put a brand new set of strings on my guitar 5 minutes before making the video. Couple loud, bright sounding strings with my cheap/old mic, and you tend to get a bunch of extra distortion captured while recording. Which probably just means I should get myself a better mic ;-)

    Thanks for listening!

  • Brilliantly done mate. I don't see that its that much different from your original. Either way I loved it matey, can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do the tab for this version, I know that the original song version tab is all over the internet, but I prefer your version. I'd be extremely greatful.

  • Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. As for the tab, you can find a tab for the gist of my version of the song on my website (check out my main channel page for the URL).

Technically, the tab I have posted there is for the 1st acoustic rendition I recorded. So, the main riff might be missing a note. But, if it is, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out the missing note. The solo is probably also ever so slightly different.

    Good Luck!
