  • AWESOME THANK YOU

  • we can't not like this one

  • It sounds a bit like "captive song"

  • it sounds like "captive stone " to me....Wicked version though

  • lol

  • what a wonderful voice... love it!

  • captaive stone

  • i have to dedicate this song to the man of my life. i love you dwaine mu-ah

  • Yeah! Marcia ruff y'nah, she na play a bludclart!

  • I absolutely love this version and Marc rocks!!! But a verse in the lyrics have me wondering... trembling heart of a captive stone??? I thought it was captive bird? Or am I thinking bout another song? Lol.

  • You're right, other singers/version do sing " Captive bird" but Marcia deffinately says something different and I find it difficult to hear clearly exactly what what it is she sings. I've listened over & over to that bit and still can't quite make it out, maybe it could be "captive soul"

If anyone knows for sure or has any other ideas please post your thoughts! ;)

  • @NitroNoriFan and @kiwigirl2007online Several of the words are different in this version. It was written by folk singer Ewan MacColl and recorded by many artists, some of whom changed a word here and there to suit themselves it would seem?

  • @NitroNoriFan

How about "captive's own"? ( Heart that is.)

However the end of the previous verse has me foxed. "the dark and the end old skies my love" not Endless skies as I've always thought.!

  • @NitroNoriFan Marcia always changes some words around when she covers.. Saw her last weekend w/ steel pulse, toots, bunny wailer! amazing..

  • very groovy like the beat nice song.

  • NICE!!!

  • Just stumbled across this, love it, great cover thanks NitroNoriFan

Check out the amazing 15yr old Sarah Billington singing this.

  • Muito foda!

    jah live!

  • Fabulous. As nice as Roberta Flack.

  • Beautiful song!!!

  • shame the bass line dont come over.. puts it all into place

  • The bass IS there but it's too much/too deep for most laptop/pc speakers.

My laptop is linked to my 150 watt surround sound hi-fi which makes Youtube an absolute fantastic video jukebox!!!! ;o)

  • @NitroNoriFan Thumbs up! Respect.

  • @NitroNoriFan Yeah the bass coming through the hi-fi great here

  • @slippery42 Try it through headphones ;)

  • @NitroNoriFan a sub woofer works well for bass if you are cheap and cheerful like me

  • @NitroNoriFan

It sounds fantastic thru my Senheiser headies.

  • You're not a reggae fan then!!!! Turn up your bass!!!! ;D

  • This song was written by Ewan MacColl for his wife, not by Roberta Flack, though she made it famous in the US.

Any ideas greatly welcomed so I can put it right! :o)
