Also... if you came with $1500, you could actually get your black belt in TWO MONTHS, in an "intensive program" of simply going to a day class and a night class each day, plus a few private lessons. There was a fat woman who could not tie her own shoes... but she paid to be a black belt. It is an insult to the integrity of real arts. SHAME ON THEM!
I have 32 years study of baguazhang, xing-yi, praying mantis, San Soo and long fist. I studied this "art" for two years... it is a fraud. It is a mish-mash of karate, with some tid bits of bagua, aikido... like you learned from pictures in a book. The "form" done before class is a JOKE. It's a poor attempt at creating a tai chi form. The biggest give away were two things. One... they circle walk with one foot in front of the other... both feet on the line! Insane! 2. nothing about the bagua.
This is not Pakuachang. This is some made up crap by an Argentinian phoney who supposedly died and "left his legacy". Sad this is that he has a huge following. But this is a total fraud, like shaolin-do and calasanz.
this has no relation to Bagua at all, it is a mix of japanese styles, with kimono(gi) katana, straight arms punches, hard blocks.
really guys, if you are going to call something bagua/pakuayou really should at least watch a video of the stylr so you now what it is meant to look like
really u have nooo idea of how many mcdojos are in argentina.
there are alo of schools that claim to be kung fu schools, pakua in particular is the biggest "martial hoax" of the country. but there are others, search for "taika chisu" or "wai kung pai".
one last thing all the people posting in spanish in this thread r basically saying the same as u.
Your knowledge is very limited then and I feel very sorry for your ability to not see that, it is infact Pakua/Bagua. The reason for the mix is that it is the art of 8 changes, thus using many changes to fit various situations. One might say it is a copy of Japanese martial arts when in fact the roots of Pakua as a martial art go back 3000 years to China with the philosophy of Pakua and rooted in the I-Ching. Aikido could be considered one change of Pakua, though not Pakua its self.
Lower belts learn how to fight in a liner fashion, thus at first it would not appear as pakua to the untrained eye and just a regular kung-fu. How ever once one starts to teach and become an instructor they begin to use the various changes, and circle walking techniques. One change does not mean one knows or even understands everything about pakua. To simply imply the fact that you only need to know aikido and then be able to call it pakua is utter nonsense.
Could you explain to me why they were using a Nunchaku, which is not really used in any type of Kung Fu? And why were they doing gymnastic stunts at 1:23, and using Karate blocks as well as karate punches and Japanese Kiai's?
With Bagua you should learn circle walking from the start and I'd expect to see at least one little scene of it in the show... aren't they masters? There was no Bagua Zhang in there?!
Maybe you should check out Pakua com. Start taking lessons for your self. I can only explain so much to such a closed mind. We do start learning aspects of circle walking from the start. Walking around a palace's is often one of our daily exercises Pakua doesn't necessarily restrict one from learning higher knowledge at a lower level. That and you must realize that there are several disciplines one can learn. Each with its own benefits.
Back in the older days, Pakua was also taught as a complement, to traditional kung-fu. Some people come into a studio knowing no kung-fu at all, thus they are taught it at the lower lvls.
@lordtains Hate to break this to you, but nunchaku are used in several styles of Kung Fu! Shaolin and Wing Chun have several different forms of both single and double nunchaku!
Wing Chun?? Are you kidding me? If that is the case, it were modern teachers who thought Nunchaku to a fun thing to add to the system, because in no way are Nunchaku original wushu weapons. Let alone Wing Chun (which only has butterfly knives and long pole forms).
Another fake style, it has nothing to do with the original Pa kua(baqua). That´s a mix of Karate, Aikido and even Kendo. Chinese martial arts DO NOT train with kimono and katana. Some technics may work, but not like a traditional and true style. Original Pa kua is completely different.

what i do know that pa qua is one of the three internal kungfu styles and it is Chinese art but these guys haw Japanese costumes and weapons so is this some sort mixed art from pa qua coz its not original pa qua (8 diagram boxing)
Yeah, because they are a bogus style, a friend of mine had a free class with them, exactly during the belt exam. A boy who didn´t know how to punch got the belt, and he, at his first class, got yellow belt(LOL).

so your argument is that you can do anything and call it pakua because bagua is about change. and no this is not bagua

I just find it strange that the circular movements -which are Bagua's unique trademark- were not included in the video.
