  • hes asking about the well car

  • what wher intermodel cars doing in ottawa

  • Not sure which cars you are refering to.

  • @sidomitch

he is talking about the cars at 3:15

  • Great video but nothing uglier than a CN or CP locomotive! I just took apart two HO scale CN units and I am repainting them to CSX colors. Great video though.

  • @csxsd70ace - Oh c'mon now! Red/black/white is an amazing combination! Although I'll admit, CP's newer color schemes (solid red) are a bit boring. I miss their snoot-nose SD40-2's.

  • @CN8840 Yeah, besides, Red and Black are our school colors!

  • The days before "three step requests" before going in between cars.

  • wheres walkly yards? do you mean walker yards

  • Walkley Yards is in south-end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was used by CN. and CPR. at the time.

  • @sidomitch

who uses it Walkley yard now? or is it abandoned?

  • @jpgbrookes It has Ottawa Central Railway using it. Pretty small-time traffic.

  • the hard hats protect you from falling airplane parts ! at least thats what they told us when i worked on the track gang for Illinois Central Gulf !

  • Is cn not so serious with saftey? @ 2.12 those mean are wearing hard hats but no saftey vests!

  • Safety vests were not required by railroads until fairly recently. If you went up to those guys in 1992 and told them they had to wear a safety vest, they'd just laugh at you.

  • fair enough! lol i was 6years old in 92 so i wouldnt bother asking em to put one on since that i wouldnt have a clue about it then.

  • now that was the day, i was able to ride in a couple of sd 40s in the past

  • great video i grew up in nepean seeing cn run everyday... now maybe a couple shorties a day... thanks for posting..

  • WHAT KIND OF HORN IS ON THAT TRAIN

  • I don't know.. There are guys who could tell you it's a Nathan, or a 3-chime Leslie, whatever.. I'm not an expert on what CN was using on those EMD locomotives in 1992. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • how do you even start one of these locomotives is there a safety key or something?

  • I'm not sure how its done. I think the engineer can take the throttle handle off the control panel, when he's off the engine, and it's running.

  • @sidomitch No, the reverser is the "key". There are also some other things, but I won't say because you never know...

  • Probably a K3H/K3L.

  • What year is this and where are you from?

  • Filmed in fall of '92. I'm in Ottawa Ontario.
