  • preciouslypoignant...

  • This guy can't play for shit. Daum.

  • Bravo!!! Mancini the interpretation for solo piano is so.............velvet so............awesome. Thanks for posting!

  • out of the world!magical composer and i found also fantastic interpretator)

  • L'invité, l'hôte, le décor, la musique, comment ne pas être sous le charme??? Perfect fit!

  • beautiful !

  • If this was made post 65' hank should have done a version of come together

  • It's Paul McCartney. But I think everyone figured out.

  • @stringmusic123 if we consider biber's fans - ain't that obvious

  • When a song is a Master Piece we can enjoy it in any way and any style.

Lennon & Mc Cartney genius. Henry Mancini too, of course.

  • fünf leute müssen etwas auf den ohren haben

  • so cool to see the Beatles talking with Henry Mancini. Such a beautiful song, and it was so cool to see the camera showing his hands playing the piano. Classic video!

  • 'Twas a joke, the Beatles were always messing with people...one of the things that made them awesome :)

This piano version is gorgeous; so poignant and classic

  • @ssparrow331 well said! I was so happy to have found this version.

  • @pattyfromtoledo Thank you. It's going to be one of the first songs I learn on the piano :)

  • @ssparrow331 that's wonderful - you're lucky to have a piano. I never took lessons but could play a bit by ear on my parent's piano growing up. I haven't taken time to play a piano in 20 years ~ maybe I'll take lessons sometime, too and learn to play this : )

  • @pattyfromtoledo Go for it! :D

  • I LOL, when Henry said he pick a song from their "Vast Catalouge", who knew 5 years later that "vast catalouge" will be over 200 songs...

  • i wish someone could make this an mp3! and send it to me

  • LMAO as soon as i saw paul i screamed XDD i was watching videos about audrey hepburn and this was on the side.. what an unexpected surprise :)

  • @sweetmay73 you sound like my best friend

she loves Audrey Hepburn and her favorite Beatle is Paul

  • Wow, that is beautiful.

  • Henry knew we would take this part of the video for youtube :)) that's why he introduced the song! :)

  • What I find most amazing about this song (writting by John) is the beautiful key change after the intro. Lennon was the first to admit that he was not a great musician but what an ear he had.

  • @jorodd

Certainly John wasn't a trained musician, he was an artistic genius ..... and YES i always wondered how John came up with those chromatic chords in the beginning of If I fell ...that was so clever and beautiful ...played by Mancini, who was a melody craftsman too, you see how the song would have been arranged if written by a studied musician with that sophisticated harmony....and guess what ....I like better the way John did it.

  • A beautiful reading of a great tune.

  • READY JOHN! JAJAJAJA

  • Played like a beautiful sonata.

  • Gyönyörű

  • Grrrrrrreat!

    huge thanks for your uploading!

  • Beautiful is right and Henry should know.

  • genius like henry mancini won't ever be fully appreciated by the mass. The more I study music composition, the more of his genius reveals itself to me. He put chords into the same song that beattles wouldn't even dream of doing if they had been given another lifetime to figure out.

  • that was about the funniest thing i've heard paul say, 'known to his friends as hank.....ready henry?'

  • Hermoso, Beautiful!

One of the most beautiful love song ever made, this is the proof Lennon &McCartney were an excellent writer musicians, the kind of musicians like Henry Mancini. write and play only a high level music. (Excuse me for my mistakes, I´m trying to write in english)

  • Amazing!!! Henry Mancini and Paul and John together!! and one of my favorite songs, how I wish I had this on film, really beautiful, thank you so much for finding this!

  • i didn't like it :<

the only reasons i have for not liking it will seem pompous so there ya go.

  • Pink Panther Plays Beatles. haha...

  • Beautiful rendition!!! Got to say he looks like Dan Castellenetta!

  • maestro!!!

  • i cant believe he called paul JOHN....that is just how awesome henry mancini is.....

  • He didn't bugger it up!

    Mancini = colours!

  • WOW WOW WOW! Henri Mancini! Performing one of my fave songs <3

and I hope he was kidding when he said 'Ready, John' o_o

  • You know, those Beatles with their long hair...

they all look the same :)

  • PRETTY !!!

  • The original was written and performed by the Beatles in 1964

  • I prefer the original version by Slade

  • ha said it as a joke

  • paul mcarthy is a bit of a nerd I think , seems always bitter like the world owes him something whats up with that?

  • Hes in with the devil!

  • That was absolutely lovely....but did he say, 'ready johnny'?

  • Thank you for the Post

    From Earl

  • His friends call him Hank- Henry-thank you John!

    Classic

  • Absolutely fantastic.

  • Fantastic,at least 5 stars.

  • Ready John!

  • @inverness Yeah he got it wrong but no big deal. Gorgeous playing by Hank.

  • Mis dos compositores favoritos, primero Paul McCartney y luego Henry Mancini.

    Gracias por subir el video.

  • what an awesome interpretation! Thanks for posting.

  • nice song

  • Thanks for the video. Mancini has shared so much love and respect with his fellow musicians - even 10 years after his death at the Mancini Tribute Concert in LA, where I was priviledged to see an assemblage of diverse talent such as you'd never see on a single stage, but for their love of Hank!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He was a talent, his music never ages.

  • he called paul john??

    he must be crazy!

  • his friend was Blake Edwards and you know what happened when he got the Oscar some years ... just ignoring names and facts and life is extraordinary funny

  • That was a JOKE..........cool!

  • Now; can the new generation ever boast of such greats coming together? Our years are timeless.... classic.... soulful!

  • This is a wonderfully rare gem to have posted!

Thank you. Hank is a fave and I've never seen this!

  • He said his friends call him Hank, then Paul called him Henry, and then Henry called Paul, John. Interesting.

  • It's called a Joke!

  • @tbcass

  • @tbcass i don't think he knew any better than to call Paul John.

  • @rabidgoldfish65 --it's because he called him Henry..rather than "Hank". Mancini is facile...

  • @rwwagsneb I stand corrected. I have seen the light : )

  • @rabidgoldfish65 he did. it was a joke. Paul says, "known by his friends as Hank....ready Henry?" (implying that they are not friends) so Mancini replies with "ready john!" (implying that he doesnt even know his name) they were toying with each other for a laugh

  • @hotvision alright already! I admitted I was, wrong what do ya want, blood? I get now, I see the light, I made a mistake. Let's move on shall we? Geeez....

  • it was a joke....same reason Paul said friends call him Hank and then said "ready Henry"?

  • HE CALLED PAUL, JOHN DX

  • DId I hear him correctly or did he just call him JOHN?????

  • I want to get this on my computer/iPod, would anyone please give me a link?

  • Download "Limewire". You can get nearly anything and it's free!

By the way, beautiful piece! Made tears in my eyes. =)

  • Limewire is easier to track than torrents, I would suggest utorrent instead.

  • This song's strength is its simplicity.

HM plays a commanding piano here.

  • I like :) As many kisses as you want than

  • I like :) As many kisses as you want than lol

  • Oh shit Casper?! Sorry jumped to fast with a conclusion. You got me you got me. How about two dances than?

  • ???? Stalling again? *sigh* Not with other songs this one right here. It's perfect

  • Love Beatles, Mancini, the Piano, this song, and the sheer class of it.

Please don't deny me this dance sweet :)

  • *sings* "If I give my heart to you I must be sure from the very start that you would love me more....."

Completely melting here. Everything I love in this piece.. BPs!

  • I would have enjoyed listening to what John had to say after Mancini played. Is there a continuation of this?

  • goosebumps

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the best cover of the best love song in the world - no song is more beautiful than "If I Fell". I've been The Beatles fan since early childhood and this song reminds me of the past, I wish it was possible to download Henry Mancini's version. Does anyone have a link?

  • My god, this music is marvelous, as Lennon & McCartney and Mancini are. This can not be repeat by someone!

  • Awesome!!! Thank you for posting.

  • damn, this is great

  • Up until about 10 years ago you could walk into a hotel in Brighton, sit in the lounge, with gents dressed in suits and ladies in fine dresses, be served a drink by a suave waiter, and listen to a man in evening dress play, nearly, as beautifully as Mr Mancini. All different now. People in jeans, rude waiters, modern pop played over the tannoy system. Why has everything become so shitty!

  • You're right. The charm and elegance of the old times has long since faded and turned for the worst. The most lamentable trait of modern times is the horrible pop music, or at least in my opinion. It's all been commercialized.

  • "Thank you John" ROFL!

  • Fantastic! Monumental music made!

  • Bring us more of this , pleaseeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow!So beautiful!

That brought tears to my eyes!

  • holy crapolee-- Henry and Paul on the same stage!!! this is absolutely priceless. thank you tube and for the posting.

  • Unbelievable, to have these guys share a stage!

  • This is Great!!,Henry Mancini playing one Lennon&McCartney's Classic's, just Brilliant!! 5*****

    Marc Jones Popular&Jazz Vocalist. U.S.A.

PS)I sang a Beatles classic Yesterday you can view it at glennmach channel.

  • why couldn't God let him live another 100 years?

  • why couldn't God let him live anothe r100 years?

  • Thank you for the clips. I'll enjoy them surely.

  • he said "ready john"??

  • cause paul was trying to witty and said better know to his friends as "hank" ready henry

  • Henry Mancini was the shit!

  • It is obvious that you don't know the first thing about music....... and Henry Mancini was one of the greatest jazz composers..... the next time you hear the Pink Panther Theme remember that..........that is if you even know what the Pink Panther Theme is.

  • isnt fibreoptik complementing Henry Mancini by saying he was the shit?

  • He, he, kids today and their crazy talk, eh? Yes, the original poster was saying Mancini's the bomb, cool, with it, hep, far out, whatever era's term you can relate to :-) Either way, I agree and thanks for the great upload!

  • Amazing !!! Where can I get this movie??

  • He picked a Lennon song. I bet that got to Paul.

  • Plenty of people picked McCartney songs, too. In fact, John introduces one of them - "And I Love Him," sung by Esther Philips.

    *sigh*

I do not and never will understand the constant need of a small, twisted minority of Beatles fans to put John and Paul "at" each other at every possible opportunity. They were friends, partners, collaborators, brothers, you name it, for over a decade. They loved and respected each other, so get your Macca-hate (or Lennon-hate) validated somewhere else.

  • 40%? How do you quantify something like that and did you hear how it sounded before John's suggestions. If not how do you know it sucked? John or Paul would write a song and then the other would make suggestions for improvement. They were both great song writers. Paul was the melody master while John was more experimental and adventurous. They were a great team. In this case 1+1=4

  • I see---were you there in the room, my friend? No? Oops.

  • It was a joke if you didnt get it

  • Funny, Mancini called Paul, "John."

  • Wow! I never knew this existed. Just incredible... and beautiful. Thank you so much. :)

  • Mancini could see talent even then.

  • Cool as Hell
