I had a similar experience .I was at a hardware store and an east indian and his buds dressed in Louie vitton and expensive sunglasses were in front of me, they left and when I got the counter I saw a really thick wallet, I was really poor and thought I might keep it, but I decided it was best to give it back so I rushed out to their brand new lexus and said hey you forgot this he didn't say anything he just grabbed it, looked through it to make sure i didn't steal anything and then he took off
I once found a wallet left on a washer in a laundry room at a apartment building. It had about $200 in it. The guy who left it came screaching into the parking lot about a half hour later. When I handed it to him do you think I got a $20 reward? F### no, the guy just barely said thanks and left. What a ingrate assh###, if I knew that was going to be his reaction, I would have just kept it. If it had been me, I would have gave the finder all the cash. I would be happy just getting the rest back.
@shiakue666 Let that be a moral lesson to you. The best thing to do is pocket the cash and mail the guy's wallet back to him. It sucks losing your wallet and the important stuff/replacing cards, etc. I did this once, netting something like $120 from the cash and got I think $50.00 reward when I mailed it back to the guy. It felt good all the way around - I did the right thing and got paid... twice.
Hand it to the police and leave your name. After 28 days not claimed it's yours. (that's in the uk anyway)

@shiakue666 Thats terrible. You shouldnt do things to be praised and rewarded, you should do them because they're the right thing to do.
