The Max Payne series are much more linear than the GTA series and other R* games. You should seriously consider picking it up, though. I recomend you read the Q&A about MP3 R* published a few weeks ago in their website so you can erase some of your doubts about it.

This was by far the GTA I enjoyed the most , ofcourse SA and VC were awesome too , but I liked how they let you choose the end and either execute or let people live.

The voice acting is awesome IMO , and if you played Rockstar's other titles , you may notice that they used the same voice actors again in some characters :P

GTA GTA LONDEN GTA 2 GTA 3 GTA Vice City GTA Liberty City Stories GTA Vice City Stories GTA IV From the first game I was hooked, but the fifth game (Vice City) made me a fan. The depth of all those games, and the progression in graphics, just makes me wonder why this isen't the most sold game francise in the world. The storyline, it goes further then killing someone who has stolen your neighborhood. Its amazing, and in my opinion, could never be beaten.

@deidaratobisasori Completely right, the movie idea might lamen the game because achieving the feel of GTA, means alot of choices, and putting things in control, meaning the person who bought gta would need to experience the feel of which is all the games really are.GTA4's epic stroyline feels like a movie, with deep missions that go farther than killing peple, but showing part of the reality in choosing a hard road that involves criminal behavior to barely survive..That is an experience
