I love my C24s. The only downside I can think of is that by maximising the width of the spoke juncture, there's very little clearance to the chainstay. It's a problem for Garmin spoke magnets, which end up whacking against my (2009 Tarmac S-Works) chainstays - seek out the ultra-low-profile Shimano clip-on magnet instead.
Andy's right about lowering rotational mass for improved acceleration and feel. But he sneaks in a comment about climbs that's a bit misleading. More weight is slower on a continuous climb. Regardless of where the weight is distributed
My contribution to the "fun" of fast descending .... 100kmh+ (60mph+) on a tri-bike set-up descending Mont Ventoux. This was almost 20 years ago with a bike computer whose max speed capture topped out at 99.9 kph, so likely went over that. And no, I wasn't on the aero-bars, my hands were on the brake-bars .... I may be insane, but I am not stupid!! LOL!
at 0minute 2:54 .. what is the comment about Sweden . quote ->"you dont get what ? in sweden of all places" . i hope your not poking jokes about us here in SWEDEN:
Having owned & used Ultegra & Dura Ace 7850 sl's for 12 months, I totally agree with this review. I won't be going back to Mavic despite being happy with them previously. Most companies focus on low weight for marketing, but take it all out of the hub. Shimano perform as light as wheels 200 grams heavier. Love em
Yeah, road bikes suck, they move too fast compared to mountain bikes. On a road bike, it can get a little scary when you start getting above 30 MPH on a straight away because your entire bike weighs 15 lbs, and you're on a smooth surface. It's even worse when you hit 50 or 60 on a good incline.
Better to stick to a mountain bike with those huge inefficient tires which since they max out at 30 MPH in free fall.
To get from the top of Mount Hamilton to the Alum Rock road, I've seen people do it under 20 minutes, and they don't race.
The current recorded maximum speed in the Tour de France is a little faster than 70 MPH. At that speed, racers simply tuck, and the don't bother to pedal.
You don't know what you're talking about.
I've hit 50. It's fucking crazy and scary, and I'm too old and wise to do it now. I would have died if I have a front tire blowout.
Idiot, you said that it's impossible to descend at 50 to 60 MPH on a road bike and that's what I'm responding to, because it most certainly is.
You won't ever get that speed on a mountain bike simply because of the amount of rolling resistance you have on the tires and the impossibility to get into a proper tuck.
So, yes, while on road bikes you can descend at 60 MPH, and it's EASY to do, and terrifying. Taking a crash at that speed can be fatal. 9 to Saratoga from Skyline, it's easy.
What exactly did you mean then when you said you were laughing you ass off "okay" - then sneering that while on road bikses, you can descent at 60 miles per hour, "nice try"
Because I can only interpret that one way. What are you saying with the sentence?
This shitty youtube interface doesn't allow quotes though, so you'll have to look above for exactly what you said. Tell me, what did you mean by it?
Compared to someone who races or not. A person who doesn't race doesn't know whats it's like to race in a peloton. Where you are inches away from other riders. One mistaken can take down more than 20 guys. Making that one mistake at a speed where you are hammering it 40mph, is like jumping out of a car. The road rash in that crash would be a trip to the hospital.

@hagenar you're right he kind of just didn't mention that. he said make it's easier to attack, which would be correct.

50 on what?
You don't know what you're talking about.
The common decent speed is 60 mph. You figured out the maximum. Maximum doesn't imply to "all the time".
