First time I saw Neil Young live was in Genova (Italy), in the 1986. I remember well that concert, and he'd dress the same shirt as in this video. This song is not so good, but I love it because it remeber me that magic moment
so happy to see positive comments here.. when i first saw this it blew my mind!!!!!!!!!!.. and it was the first 80's stuff i really took time out to listen too. this could be released today and piss on all those shit bands who think using electronics in their band are cool.. i beleive this track is timeless!!!!!!!!!!!!
how can anyone even neil fans say that the 80's was a bad year... hahaah how i laugh every time.. they are the ones who are missing out hahahaha!
Incredible...I agree that its the best gutiar solo i've ever seen. Neil Young and Crazy Horse in an old rusted out garage...what a perfect venue...Neil is great in all decades
i was loved this song. Contrary to what a lot of people say, i think Neil was great in the eighties - Trans, Landing on water, Life - they are great albums. This song hits the G spot for me when im bummed out.
On of best songs ever. Absolutely love the way Neil moves while playing the solo. Could have been the perfect ending. Why in Gods name does he starts singing again? Because of this I still like the album version better.
This was NY & CH In A Rusted Out Garage Pay Per View TV special produced by Westwood One. It included a guest appearance by Sam Kinnison who as "The Neighbor" humourously cursed out Neil & the guys for playing too loud at one point. All in fun of course...but I had to hand it to Neil as Sam ripped him a new one in one of the most caustic rants ever by Sam K. Neil went right into Violent Side from Life as I recall. This concert has never been available that I'm aware of unless a bootleg exists...
Nice version of this song, seems like quite a possessed performance. Some very vivid imagery conveyed within those lyrics. Thanks for sharing this little known gem, it's not my fav live version of this track, but very cool nonetheless.
"I was rambo in the disco, I was shootin' to the beat, when they burned me in effigy, my vacation was complete"
passionate performance. saw him live with the same kind of passion in 1976 )stills young tour) Been a huge fan of Neil ever since. AND HE'S STILL DOING IT. what the hell happened to Stills?? that dude was kookin too back in '76.

Stupid me! This is the album version. Only on album they fade out with the guitar solo. Very good choice by the way!

L' album "life" ha un fascino tutto suo, a partire da questa canzone. Veramente interessante e fuori dal solito Neil.
