  • Y U NO SOUND??

Bet the engine of that thing purrs like a tiger

  • try watching this and telling me that it isn`t awsome

  • abso - fire - trucking - lutely fascinating 225,937 views for 12 sec -.-' gj

  • who's idea was it to call it "Crucio"

  • @UnstableUranium blizzard.

  • @olegario39 well then.

  • awesome animation, well done by Blizz : )

  • I heard the sounds while it was transforming... O_O

  • esse tank se trasformando n e nada de mais qualquer um pode faze isso

  • cobra from halo wars

  • @noobslaer117 0/10

  • did you know that crucio is Latin for "i torture"?

  • now let it shoot

  • A transforming toy. What the hell is that tank doing?

  • Fake it is a seige tank

  • @SabooZX ...which is known as a Crucio Siege Tank...

  • The old ones just deployed two miniature arms at the sides with a lot of fuss. This actually makes it look like something is actually being done to the tank; that there is an actual difference between the tank and the siege mode.

  • @0mitchkramer0 I think that's the downside of going 3d.

  • @imtheonlysane1here It seems to be the common belief, but the actual design of sc2 is less mature, more anime-fantasy-like. And as a serg fan I just hate what they did to the swarm - just compare hydras from sc1 to sc2 - and by that I do not mean only the actual ingame unit, but the design of the creature itself.

  • @erghtrfgh as a zerg fan I can assure you, zerg is not spelled serg

  • @WarrenPaul3H oh yeah. my mistake.

  • @erghtrfgh I think the new hydra looks wayyyy cooler than it did back then. Same with all the rest. When people design, they just vent all their creativity onto a piece of paper. So dont be saying the design is less mature. All the equipment and machinery make sense, why not make it look cool?

  • @Digitalman271 well, its just that new design looks much more cartoonish imo. and I think that is the common trend with blizzard games since WoW - it happened to D3 designs as well, as far ai I know. there even was a petition to make it look more dark with over 60 000 signatures total. don't get me wrong, SC2 is still good, but the marines used to spill whole lot more blood when they died and hydras now have useless additional claws and some horns on their tails &spines for some unknown purpose.

  • @erghtrfgh Well the hydralisk is just supposed to look like it has a detailed gruesome exoskeleton. Though the extra claws are kinda pointless. And the reason diablo 3 is brighter is it gives a more realistic atmosphere. They want everything to be dark, but it comes a point when its dark that it doesnt look real anymore, but it DOES need more contrast and the dungeons especially need to be darkened up.

  • @Digitalman271 did you just agree with all I said about sc2 hydra horns and claws and diablo 3 colour scheme without acknowledging the fact that more recent blizzard designs are more bright and cartoonish? c'mon, you cant say they are trying to make D3 to look realistic - imo the only step towards realism is the third dimesion. What strikes me more is that they gave up the light radius/shadow system from Diablo 1-2. And that is probably fine, but as a D1-2 fan I can say that I don't like that.

  • @Digitalman271 its a shame, but youtube comments page is not a best place for a discussion, but you can try serching concept art drawings for sc2 and compare them to sc1. I think the sift in the approach to visual designs is obvious. That does not meen that their artists do the crappy job, it's just that it seems to me that I see a trend, and that I like their previos approach more.

  • sige tank transform and say still!

  • AUTOBOTS TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT

    Fucking Activision Blizzard.

  • Autobots Transform!

  • I think the new siege tank looks okay, like something you'd actually see a real army using though the treads sticking out of the sides make it look like a toy

  • I want to know who was the fag that did not like this....

  • this tank is damn slow when mobilising

  • lol all you nostalgia fags need to get yours eyes checked

    this looks BETTER

it uses 3D GRAPHICS not SPRITES

  • @sharki9876

lols @ "things look better just because they're 3D instead of 2D"

  • @Kitxunei

    lol@ obvious troll being obvious

  • @sharki9876 It looks smaller, cleaner and made from lighter materials. More modern. Don't think it looks better per se, though...

  • sucks how in sc2 siege tanks only do 35(+15 armored) damage

  • @EmoBoyWhoLuvsEmoGrls yeah, i dont like that patch, but i was vs 5 ultras and 20 zerglings with only 5 tanks and about 20 marines and the tanks killed everything. i think it was good for balancing

  • @EmoBoyWhoLuvsEmoGrls Its because they were trying to mix the gameplay aspects of warcraft 3 and starcraft original (Ya know how it takes forever for things to die in wc3 and micro makes much less of a difference.). I think thats b.s. though because when I play starcraft, I expect to play starcraft not a starcraft/warcraft wannabe.

  • I'm about to drop the hammer, and unleash some INDISCRIMINATE JUSTICE!

  • 0:04 BOOOOOM!!!!!! half of my units dead by this *assh*le

  • I actually like it.

  • The only thing good about this new tank is that the cannnon looks badass.

  • it doesn't leave a much space for a crew... noticed?

  • What the F#$# is that? Its a ROBOT spider! Squash it!

  • What have they done to my beautiful siege tank! D: This look's like a toy! I liked the solid tank-link look of the original.

  • i see, it shoots ninja stars

  • it looks like a starfish :D

  • i don't understand why this model has to look so bad.

  • huh cool^^

  • some more realism would be better, modern guns have built in stabilisers which greatly increases their mobility, as they dont need setup time

  • lol do i love the new Tank...i sure do! toy tank-like many say but this thing looks like it can do some Damage :D

  • *Pulls out magic wand*

    *Aims at zergling*

    "CRUCIO!"

Seriously did the tank get its name from Harry Potter or just the Latin root?

  • @DracoMalfoy87 "crucio" is latin fir "i torture"

  • Ok. I still wonder if they were inspired by Harry Potter

  • @DracoMalfoy87: LOL

  • @jake72002 tanks cant torture units, they have 1 hit K OS, but if it were referring to the player then i would see, considering the player gets fucking pissed when there's wraiths and sieged tanks together bombing the hell out of everything he sends

  • @HaloFanRedvsBLue12 i agree to but literally crucio is latin for torture. (plus tank and banshee combo is annoying in starcraft 2).

  • @jake72002 if there was banshees, why don't you just send your own banshees? (i think you meant vikings since.. well... banshee=ground attack only / viking in air mode= air attack only)

  • @HaloFanRedvsBLue12 tanks have splash banshees don't but have cloak. i'll bring thors also for air anyway

  • @HaloFanRedvsBLue12 and vikings too

    \

  • SgtHK's Tank is better!

  • Boy, I wish it would load. But Youtube's a piece of shit nowadays.

  • The only thing missing here is the Transformers 'transforming' sound effect :D

  • For the idiots still complaing about this, the look of the tank is different, the colors and shading no longer make it look like a toy or blockish, I have the beta and must say, once you play the game there is no problem with ANY of the units, it is only the people who don't have the game that seem to be complaining.

  • looks too blockish... seems like the tank needs to go on a diet

  • Transformers!

    Robots in disguise!

  • Optimus Prime !!

  • @R4Akai actually Shockwave was the deceptecon tank guy rofl

  • @R4Akai more like Tanktimus Prime

  • @calvinnerd4 Ohhh, drumroll!

  • Most of these new units including some of the Zerg look too toylike, the only idea I can come up with about the rectangular shaped brick launcher barrel is that they were possibly going for a rail gun type ammunition. No excuse for the rest of the designs though, they must've wanted to target a younger generation with lots of colors and extravagant looks; they ruined the look much like George Lucas destroyed the original Star Wars.. Just give me blood, guts, zerglings and steel man

  • I know this vid is old, and I don't know how it is now, but the tank transforms way too fast to feel... beefy.

The SC1 tank took it's quite some time in going into siege mode, and as you heard the machinery working on the tank you could just sense that whatever it was taking its sweet time doing would be worth the wait when it starts shooting that horde you know is going to appear on your screen in five seconds.

  • There is one guy who gives way to get keys at KeysSC2(.)tk

  • I hate my laptop! It doesn't play the game well! Like that Marine said: "I hate computers"...

  • This siege tank is not as cool as the one in Starcraft 1. It looks dainty.

  • Transforms faster than the original somehow lol

  • i half expected it to shoot ninja stars

  • Looks inspired by some of those Anime transformer tanks.

  • It isnt.

  • thats bad ass

  • It's a shame there aren't two types of Siege Tank. There could be this one and another 'medium' type that's more like a regular tank.

The Terran armor in SC2 looks like it's mainly going to lean towards mech walkers supported by infantry and the occasional air unit or two.

  • u need to hear the sound of its explosion shot..

  • i dont know why the cannon is green..?.

And the siege tank was more rusty

  • I liked the old design much better. Looked more sleek and tank-like, this looks like a toy.

  • this one looks awesome -.-

  • i think they changed it though

  • @asianboi1004: Awesome. I hope they change the graphics of some of the buildings as well, they looked about as blocky and toy-like as this in one video I saw.

Also, is there a difference between the Siege Tank and the Crucio? Or is that just a cool name they tacked on?

  • its the same shit cruicio seige tank normal position without seige mode makes sense now but its still the same seige mode design i think also i thinkt hey changed some of the blocky and toy like if uve seen the starcraft 2 whats wrong video they changed most of that as well cuz people were complaining

  • also if u watch some of new beta gameplay video ull c they changed tons of stuff

  • @asianboi1004: Where can I find them? I was just looking for them...

  • on youtube type starcraft 2 beta gameplay than click search options and click upload date so it gives u the new videos and not the old ones

  • @FrozenAnarchy

The siege tank in sc1 was called an Arclite siege tank. Crucio is just a new model name.

  • @FrozenAnarchy the last tank looked flimsy and unstable this one looks more realistic

  • @FrozenAnarchy You have a real bad taste

  • @kutis09ipis: Eh. Some people seem to like it alot, and I see why, it just seems too toy-like and... I don't know how to put it... Power Rangers/Transformers-esque and not like the sleek realistic-looking tank it used to be.

  • Comment removed

  • The old one looked more like tank and MAYBE you're right that it looked better, but overall I like this one more just because it has modern graphics and animation

  • @FrozenAnarchy Everything looks lika a toy in SC2... That's why I dont play Zerg... They look like plastik-toy-bunny-happy-zerg

  • @FrozenAnarchy i agree, but the design has really changed. Now it looks way cooler, it actually looks neat... :D

  • @FrozenAnarchy I say it looks like a fuckin turret.

  • @UltreaKiller Thats what its supposed to look like.

  • @FrozenAnarchy His graphics aren't on Ultra.

  • @FrozenAnarchy i agree dont really like this one it may transform faster but it looks horrible hell the hero version of it is better

  • @FrozenAnarchy

Almost everything in SC2 looks like a toy. :C

  • @Kitxunei bullshit

  • @FrozenAnarchy bah! this is so fucking 3 years old fisher price alike

  • @FrozenAnarchy this isn't how it looks like.

  • @FrozenAnarchy jaded

  • looks ugly !! very much so heavy ugly

  • it looks like a spider mine or a crab. They shouldve just made the tank the same as in SC 1 it looked pretty cool and the design made sense. Plus it looked worthy to be part of the terran. This tank looks shitty as hell. I bet this is what optimus prime's shit looks like.

  • Ever thought that they needed the tanks to be more secure to the ground cause the cannon might have gotten stronger and the shockwave of the shot would be powerful?

  • is it really that unstable? You can still make a tank look better than this to have both a stronger cannon. The tank (not in siege) looks decent but when it transforms it turns into some kind of spider mine button.

  • @warrior4641 It does look like something shat out by optimus prime XD

  • AWESOME animation!!!

  • optimus prime?

  • at some point developing this game, sitting around a table some blizzard exec, or maybe just dustin browder, was like "how do we dumb down starcraft and make it more mainstream accessible?" to which someone must have replied "I know, lets put optimus prime in, people love the new transformers movies"

and thus the new siege tank was born. sadly starcraft 2 will not have meagan fox in it, thus negating the one and only thing transformers actually had going for it.

  • lol... I know right.... all that movement to seige... im supprized it does not transform into some flying machine lol

  • @Corvyn The tank transformed even in the first Starcraft game.

  • It looks cool. The assumption is that siege mode fires shells faster, farther, and more accurately. And the shells in siege mode might be different.

But the unit need to delay its transformation. Of course we could forgo the transformation and just turn it into a mobile artillery that's useless in close range firefight.

  • No, the siege tank 'set up' this tank 'transforms'. In the first game feet go down and the barrel extends, there is no goofy third set of treads that magically disapear, barrel that gets bigger or any other silly extraneous pointless movement. I don't want to play a cartoon I want to play a gritty semi-realistic science fiction strategy game. If I wanted un realistic make believe fantasy crap Id get into anime or warhammer where their weapons are twice the size of themselves.

  • @Corvyn Except none of what you say happens happens. The central tread assembly pulls up under the cab (which you can see pretty damn easy) to make room for stabilizing legs to swing down. And the canon? Opens up to extend to its full uncompressed length -exactly- like it did in Starcraft 1.

Yeah that's some real Bugs Bunny shit, there man. All I have to do is close my eyes and I can see Daffy Duck driving this thing to Mickey Mouses place to use the canon to drop pies on his backyard barbecue.

  • Yeah if Bugs bunny were in SC2 it would almost be a better game.

Where are those legs supposed to fit, I mean does the thing even have an engine? And what about the back of the cannon where it turrets to the tank, why does that part get wider and turn green, why is it green in the first place I thought the terrans mostly used conventional weapons on their ground units, is it some sort of plasma gun now? And the fact that the front of the barrel opens up makes having a barrel completely pointless

  • @Corvyn Dude, I was being sarcastic about bugs bunny. This is Science Fiction, not everything is going to make logical sense, and not everything is going to be dark and scary.

Considering this is a series which includes telepathic swarms of alien gene stealing creatures which live in giant placentas, and faceless aliens with no visible means of taking in nutrition whose technology is powered by magic crystals you're expecting way too much realism from a tank in said series.

  • @Corvyn Additionally, you may also want to note that the weaponry in this series is typically gauss weaponry, meaning the barrel more or less is useless as the bullets are propelled and held in place along their trajectory by magnets.

  • Fiiirssstttt off, I didn't dark and scary, atmospheric is not dark and scary necissarily. I said rusty. Terrans are rusty, zerg are slimy and protoss are shinny and glowy. Remember all those bad ass cut scenes? That gave the atmosphere for the game. My basic thesis is that the development team is too tied to making this game "mainstream accessible" to worry about their original and core fan group and as a result the game appears to be influenced by modern pop culture including examples such as

  • transformers or world of warcraft etc., in much the same way many modern movies and music is produced to appeal to the lowest common denominator to attract the largest possible revenue base.

    This is obvious.

Secondly, do you even know how gauss weapons, conventional fire arms or barels in general work? Ever taken a physics class? If not I am sure there are some great wikipedias. Your HALF right a gauss weapon uses magnets, but on the other hand those magnets are coiled around the barrel as the

  • i always weonderd why space marines always had rifles instead of lazer guns, that just made them more bad as, brute human force bitch

  • projectile is propelled giving it speed, accuracy and range. If barrels are so useless why even have them on the weapons. Why not just have a magnet that launches the bullet like a catapult?

  • @Corvyn see reanimatedfish comment

  • I think it takes to long to siege/unsiege. It didn't take that long in sc1. with all the advantages of zerg and protoss and now terran have to be even MORE careful about sieging because it takes longer.

  • SO AWSOME!

  • gonna be a good game

  • it just dosnt feel right for the terran.. it should look way moer rugged and manly

  • this is better than Blizzard Tank Design.

  • lol this is exectly the blizzard tank Design

  • when its in siege mode doesent it look like a nod refinery lol?

  • It looks too much like some kind of disc launcher. I almost expect to see someone shooting skeet.

  • I shot skeet when I saw this tank, its so sexy

  • @redetrigan looks like a rail gun actually.

  • @jeffzahnd It is a a rail gun firing 150mm super heated shells.

  • the original tanks were pretty good but i like this for the reason that it fits the game what i mean is like the game is a bit futuristic in weaponry. only issue is finding which unit is which in a large battle will be a pain in the ass, thank god for hotkeys

  • doesnt look like a tank when its in siege mode. enough said.

  • doesnt have to look like a tank. since when have u seen an arbiter in life. so why should the tanks look like the present tanks, for all we know that's how tanks could look in the future. btw im not tryin to come off aggresive even though it may look like it

  • thats right the tank becomes a small fortress in siege mode thats why the feet on the side comes out and the other 4 crawlers braces the ground so that when it fires that big ass cannon it has no worries of being flipping or pushing its self around.

  • ITS 2 YEARS SINCE THIS VID LOL~!!~

  • Me like :O

    This toy is MINE!

  • Look! It's a transformer!

  • Looks like an obese Immortal.

Still awesome though, just not that awesome.

  • Is it me or does the new Siege Tank look like a toy?

  • now that zealots have the speed upgrade, making the animation for tanks to go from regular to siege and vis versa longer isnt going to help >.> Unless they are the same duration, but it seems a bit longer than sc1 tanks....

  • these trasnform a shit load faster

  • thats all cool, but its a bit flashy dont you think?

  • theyr'e the same u artard

  • transformers! more than meet the eye -.-

looks like shit. old one plz :/

  • I like the tank from original starcraft better, this one looks like it will be firing lasers or some shit like that... Too futuristic...

  • i agree

i like the tank with the lil blasts from the front and the huge ass cannon from the back

laser shit just wont cut it

  • starcraft story is 500 years later from now,

500 years don have laser technology,,, thats feel weird,,,

    human evolution so slow ass?

  • laser technology exists, its just impractical/too expensive to fire. Personally I like good ol' fashioned nuke war heads =]

  • Yeah, the old siege tanks, to me, had a more appropriate feel, but these are still super cool

  • I think these ones are better!

  • sc 2 units sucks -.- old one was best the tank looks like a toy :(

  • lol all terran units look like toys^^

thats the new graphics style i suppose
