  • wonderful...i've heard of these sessions. shame he couldn't get it together, but i guess he'd lost interest...not his marbles(prat!!!) we love you Terrapin <3 xxx

  • A glimpse as our hero enters death past 27

A fading ember of a once bright flame

Stands for thee without a name

At the eleventh day and the hour eleven

  • I like how people say this sucks when its obviously at the very early stage

  • Oh, come on, pleeeeeeeeease. Let's be honest here. This is not a masterpiece. If you played this to a friend and didn't tell them who it was by, they'd say "What is this crap? A four year old could play better." Tell them it's Barrett beforehand, and then the Reverence Hood comes down and this is 'brilliant'. I'm a huge Syd fan, but do you really think they'd keep the tapes shelved if they were even vaguely listenable? It's like Jim Morrison's Paris Tapes...total rubbish painted as genius.

  • @ProjectFlashlight612 fucking wanker!

  • @buzmanegb Calling someone a wanker is like calling someone a human being. Not reeeeeeeeeeally that insulted by that, matey. How dare I tell the truth and express my opinion? Syc was all for mind control and group non-think, after all.

  • @ProjectFlashlight612 Dude, open your ears and quit being judgmental before experiencing something raw. Do you know what emotion is? That shit transfers despite the simple style. Barrett had what it takes haha don't deny

  • The guitar playing sounds better than all the books say about the '74 sessions. Apparently he couldn't or wouldn't come up with any lyrics though...

  • Syd didn't lose his marbles *rolls eyes*

  • AMAZING !!! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS !!

  • I've got hours of thses little doodles I do on my multitrack. Do I get to be a genius? Syd WAS an emerging talent, but for whatever reason blew out his brain. Very sad, but to exploit his illness is just wrong. The Madcap and Battett albums never should have been released. They are brutal. The videos of people harrassing him walking down the street should be removed as well. Poor man. I expect to get attacked mercilessly for telling the truth, but that's the way it goes guess.

  • @Mozart1220 I agree with you in regards to removing videos of people harrassing Syd. I strongly disagree with your calling the "Madcap" and "Barrett" albums "brutal". Some of those songs may not have been up to par with some of the earlier Pink Floyd material he wrote, but there are still some pretty great sounding tracks on both those albums.Baby Lemonade,Gigalo Aunt,Octopus ride,Dark Globe,Dominoes...these are very cool numbers imo

  • @plopnod Sorry. They should never have been released like that. It's like putting pictures of a cancer victim as he slowly wastes away up on the internet. Very sad.

  • @Mozart1220 I would decribe it more as releasing the work of a genious which may not have been as good as his previous material, but never the less is pretty damn good.Have you even heard ' Gigalo Aunt' for example? Great song! Great vibe with quirky lyric. I love all this stuff, not so much because I feel obligated as a fan,but simply because these songs sound wonderful to me.There has been some crap released, but not from these 2 albums you've mentioned imo.

  • @plopnod I have heard it. Ot would have been a good song had barrett recorded it before losing his marbles.

  • @Mozart1220 well it may have sounded better "before losing his marbles" but then again maybe not.His quirky "lost his marbles" nature is often the appeal with his songs, including his work with Pink Floyd.Don't get me wrong,I respect your opinion, just don't agree with it

  • @plopnod this is a great example of ignorances in our society and honest truth so few hold as a value these days. you did a very good job of speaking your opinion (the truth) while respecting this other user, while he ignorantly goes on about syd "losing his marbles"

  • @ziwzihizwiz Thank you! Not always easy to be polite to some of these folks, but it makes for good practice. Some people have had their senses dulled by the onslaught of crappy commercial music. I'm not so polite when it comes to such people as Simon Cowell and the likes.

  • have you got it yet? - have you got it yet? - have you got it yet? --

you got it now. /stood of and went away/

  • genio!!!!!!!!!!!

  • were did you find this?

  • @kingsergio128 from a collection of syd rarities called "have you got it yet" there's different volumes, i think they're up to at least 4 now

  • Wow.I've read about those sessions. They don't even mention it in documentaries.Sounds good.Too bad he just wasn't into it.

  • esa foto de syd es hermosa, en lo personal esa session de fotos barrett sale increible,(como en todas) pero esta me gusta mucho su camisa de flores :D

  • To be honest, Jake..I have heard of it, but never actually heard it.God Bless you for posting it.I love it.Can you say what album it is on.I don't have all of Syd's albums.Just The 'Caps, Barrett, Opel, And Intro.

  • @ledzeppelin536

this wasn't on any album its all bootleg material from the sessions!

  • That is so beautiful!!!! I have only heard about these and I have a pic of the recording sheet!!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH JAKE!!!!!! SHINE ON!!!!

  • @ledzeppelin536

thank you for listening! i like this one a lot! :)
