We do chemical castration in the US all the time. We have used Provera, but it is less effective then what we use, Goserelin acetate(Zoladex). It is an implant that is placed in the subcutaneous tissue of the abdomen and blocks luteinizing hormone from telling the body to secrete testosterone. Zoladex,originally for prostate cancer, is court ordered a lot, and I have personally given it many times. But most physicians agree that it dosent stop abuse. The problem isnt hormonal, its psychological.
