  • I don't get why people argue about this being better than One Winged Angel. They're both masterpieces. I mean, omfg, it's Nobuo, what did you expect?!

  • sephiroth disliked this

  • @LTrakinat No, it was me.

  • I don't know if it would be the appropriate comparison but I've always thought of Nobuo Uematsu as a sort of Japanese John Williams.

  • @Fuyons9999 a better japanese john williams lol

  • @LTrakinat well duh...John isn't Japanese, how could he be a better Japanese :3

  • @Fuyons9999 no i mean nobuo uematsu is better than john williams and who knows maybe he is japanese down the line

  • @LTrakinat lol I know. I'm just being punny with you, since there was a play in words to be done there hacha-cha-cha *wags cigar around*

  • (gets a magnifying glass and looks at like bar) wait... WTF?!?! WHO COULD POSSIBLY DISILKE THIS?!?!?!?!

  • @Orpheus6428

Someone apparently went to all of them and hit dislike because none of the songs had any.

  • @xlwolfshirt Ha! True.

  • @Orpheus6428 Squall???

  • This is pwns. Enough said.

  • Bethoven would be jealous of Nobuo Uematsu

  • @ZadeTube If he wasn't deaf :P

Though I can picture him looking at the sheet music, eyes widening in shock before collapsing in a sweat, proclaiming his genius!

  • @ZadeTube Hahaha. Nah, I think they would collaborate and make the greatest songs ever.

    XD

  • This is one of my favorite Final Fantasy themes. So memorable and inspiring. :)

  • I am completely in love with this song, the most beautiful song I've ever heared in all of the Final Fantasy games... This song made me cry at the Distant Worlds concert in San Francisco :'D so beautiful

  • This may be embarrassing but I don't care. I am proud to have brought my mom to this concert to hear all this wonderful music and 'specially this track back last summer when Distant Worlds was going on in San Fran then. I think she liked and enjoyed it. Classical video game music soundtracks. A perfect blend of both the pinnacle of the Musical Arts from the Old World and a now behemoth born out of the New World.

  • @finstrike7 I want to take my mom to the london one next year :) Spread the joy of this music! Plus she's heard me play it at home and she loves it already.

  • @phoenixkh93 YES! Take here to that next concert! Spread the wonderful joy of this franchises beautiful music indeed, my friend! xD

  • Playing Final Fantasy has changed my life - there's no doubt about that. The plots in these games make COD storylines look like crap. No other gaming series has made me realise how amazing a game's story can be - not to mention sparked my love for music.

My one biggest hope is that Square Enix can some day emulate even half of what Squaresoft used to do.

  • @FFPiano93

You, me, and the entirety of the FF7 fanbase as a whole, my friend.

It's kinda sad, the director of the original game said--paraphrasing here--"A remake? Well, YEAH! I'd LOVE to do that! But ONLY if the entire original development team comes together to do it."

Which is highly unlikely. Squeenix has broken them up and they're all working on other projects. And they're all at least in their late forties now, if not early fifties, and not getting any younger.

    Still...one can dream.

  • ...i'm working on the game, but haven't beaten it yet.. this song makes me want to play

    morale boost +2 ?

anyways, listening to this makes me wish Distant Worlds played music from Crisis Core.

the Price of Freedom or Living Legacy would be really nice.

  • It took me this year to play FFVII after my friends said don't play that rubbish come play Call Of Duty with us but my honest opinion is I had no idea I had these sorts of emotions heh but because of Square Enix and this may sound weird but I believe it's helped me through allot of hard times and even perhaps gives me a view of the world we live in today.

  • @ViperFaceChallenge what an awesome thing to say! I'm sure if anyone in Square read this they'd be proud. I miss Squaresoft, these games were a huge part of my growing up, really changed how I looked at how to tell a story and all the elements of good story making. Tetsuya N. H. Sakaguchi and N. Uematsu really put a stamp on my life. And now Arnie Roth has added to it.

Can't wait to go to the concert again in NYC in less than a month!

  • @berettadreams It's just amazing although there just games they do hit emotions so powerfully and I live in the UK where most people my age at 17 would just try to be a boy racer (Basically trying to look like an alpha male). I spend my time doing my college work to the best of my standards because of this music without these square enix games I just think I would be like them no emotion just trying to impress girls all the time by looking tough. I'm not a geek by the way I hang out loads.

  • @ViperFaceChallenge I am a geek. I can't find anyone who shares my passion for the Final Fantasy Series but, I don't share the same pedestrian passions they do. They like something one day and move on the next. FF will be with me for life and how many people can say they found something that will inspire and awe them for their entire life?

I use FF in my Philosophy papers all the time, people think I'm creative but, I'm just exposed to a treasure trove of Greatness

  • Is this still conducted by Arnie Roth? It sounds different than usual somehow. I like it. The phrasings just sound excellent.

Maybe he's just done it so many times he can't screw it up anymore?

  • @Uboichi

Yeah it's still conducted by Arnie.

I'm going to the show here in Houston for the second time this July. Can't wait.

  • That just sent shivers down my spine and brought a tear to my eye :D

  • i listened to this track n-times, and got a little sick of it. but now listening it in this orchestra performance.... Im amazed again. The same song at so much higher quality. <3

  • Does anyone know which orchestra this is performed by? Is it the Stockholm Philharmonic by any chance?

  • @Malbo22 yes it is. :)

  • Tears well in my eyes every time I hear this.

    I am SUCH. A. NERD.

  • The show I was wanting to watch is starting, but I can't stop this music half way through, it's toooo good. :D

  • This is way to nostalgic.... I remember seeing my brother play this 13? 12 years ago then I played it 6 years after so many memories from this theme..

  • the first 10 seconds make meh wanna cry!!!

  • I wish this played when I woke up in the morning all the time haha.

  • @Sephiroth1646

Get an mp3player with an alarm feature like iPod and set it like I did....cept I set a different song

  • I'm totally gonna play this on my Ipod touch as im walking around the mall. Rofl... i'm a dork..

  • @Kirakun1 *hi five!* thats exactly what i do xD

  • @Kirakun1 haha, u should totally play "Balamb Garden Ami" while entering a library! it's pretty awesome!!!

  • @Kirakun1 Im gonna play this while having sex with my girlfriend, who i definitely gonna dump the following week.

  • @Kirakun1 I play it when I'm on the road. I play random town themes when I enter a town or city.
