  • Sega Genesis!!

  • Slugpace makes yu go hellafast i still my megadrive :)

  • cool music.

IMO, I prefer the follow up, Lotus RECS.

  • This brings back so many memories

  • @Sonichu93 And that's one reason I upload these videos - the memories. =)

  • Slugpace

  • remake the bloody game if i know how i would

  • Arghh, what a lousy version of this song :(

  • This is definitely the best theme tune out of all the Lotus games released.

  • @sockpim Yeah this is just brilliant, one of my favourite Mega Drive tunes in fact.

  • Loved that game so much. I even say checkpoint sometimes when I drive.....then I go "BeepBeepBeepBeep...lol

  • @oddersisadog Like in OutRun you mean? I'm like that for most racing games myself! XD

  • @Otouto72 Yep This game was addicting from the first time you put that old cartridge in the sega and you have to blow on it. lol

  • this music gave the origin of Top Gear music

  • Good memories!!

  • @hardmancanada And that's one reason I made the channel, the memories. =)

  • CHECKPOINT beepbeepbeep

  • On behalf of all the Amiga users, I'm sorry.

  • @fladdermuuus2 Lets not forget the "Top Gear" players to whom it may not even have occurred to listen to the originals. On this video atleast you have those amiga versions linked on the right if someone wants to listen the music how it was intended. (Because the Amiga version uses instrument samples the artist chose from professional gear)

  • Storm in a teacup

  • Couldn't even get through the Night stage without using a code, lol

Great game tho, awesome addition to my childhood~

  • @Tomdragon This is one I am looking for myself. I'd love to buy this!

  • @Tomdragon You need to play it more then. The last level was the only level I couldn't get through. (When I say 'I', I mean my brothers ^^)

This soundtrack is by far the best of the Lotus Turbo Challenge soundtracks

  • I miss my childhood :'( time passed so fast

  • @ghostpinguin I know it sure did! You can do what I did and rebuy your old games again but you lack the patienece now to play them again =D

  • @Otouto72 I m very sure that i will have the patienece to play it again plus i still have the SEGA MEGA DRIVE and still play it ^_^ also Sonic the Hedgehog wish i had the other games as well like Sonic 2 and 3 and Lotus series, I own this Lotus and Lotus II RECS

  • @ghostpinguin Yeah I was playing Aladdin yesterday on the Mega Drive and it was probably the first time I really sat down and played it properly with any real desire. I didn't finish it though and that's a goal I've set myself.

  • @Otouto72 ah Aladin i remember that game i couldn't finish the lava level its was hard wish i still had that one but sold it for mk 3 :)

  • @ghostpinguin Hmm Lava Level - That wasn't The Escape was it?

  • @Otouto72 dunno i forgot the game completly but i think when ya had to jump on the magic carpet

  • 1. this the turbo challenge 2

    2. the sound sucks compared to amiga versions

  • @5olidsn4ke Yeah the Mega Drive/Genesis sound engine was hit and miss. Sometimes it can produce a more edgier, raw sound but on the flipside it appears much weaker compared to the SNES sound and in this case the Amiga.....you would think the uploader would be butt-hurt with your opinion =)

  • @Otouto72 Agreed

  • love thiiis tune dawg

  • @HEJJAGAEGERALLT Oh this tune's awesome! Totally kicks ass!

  • @Otouto72 could you send me the mp3?

  • awesome. thank you so much for posting this

  • @mickiew4 No problem!

  • The Amiga version theme was way better though

  • @techguruuk Did the Amiga have better sound memory than the Genesis? I suppose this does sound tame compared to the Amiga version.

  • Otouto72 (uploader) "Did the Amiga have better sound memory than the Genesis? I suppose this does sound tame compared to the Amiga version."

I think it's because the Mega Drive/Genesis wasn't as strong with samples- apparently only one of its channels supported PCM (sampled) output and required the main CPU to continually feed it with bits, making it processor intensive. The Amiga soundchip could fetch and playback sample data from memory without much intervention.

  • Doesn't much matter, Amiga needs RAM for samples, MD uses FM synthesis, actual hardware waveforms. It does use samples sometimes, but those can be pulled from cartridge ROM anyway, no RAM needed.

  • Is there race music in sega version of lotus cause in here eny of the race videos doesent have music?????

  • This tune has stuck in my mind much more than many other Sega Mega Drive driving game - more than the music from Outrun even.

  • they used white noise for the snare...awesome.

  • yep. Epic song ! Just admit it, Old vg songs are better that nowadays vg songs !

  • Best VG songs come from the early days. Genesis...

    EPIC song

  • More music from Barry Leitch, the man who did the music for the "San Francisco Rush" series.

  • Another song I'll never forget from my young gaming days.

  • is there somewhere i can download this music??????????

  • One of the many great game tunes from my kiddy days!

  • Yes and not a bad game either, never heard of it when I recorded it but I must say I surprised me.

  • Awesomeness!
