@fladdermuuus2 Lets not forget the "Top Gear" players to whom it may not even have occurred to listen to the originals. On this video atleast you have those amiga versions linked on the right if someone wants to listen the music how it was intended. (Because the Amiga version uses instrument samples the artist chose from professional gear)
@Otouto72 I m very sure that i will have the patienece to play it again plus i still have the SEGA MEGA DRIVE and still play it ^_^ also Sonic the Hedgehog wish i had the other games as well like Sonic 2 and 3 and Lotus series, I own this Lotus and Lotus II RECS
@ghostpinguin Yeah I was playing Aladdin yesterday on the Mega Drive and it was probably the first time I really sat down and played it properly with any real desire. I didn't finish it though and that's a goal I've set myself.
@5olidsn4ke Yeah the Mega Drive/Genesis sound engine was hit and miss. Sometimes it can produce a more edgier, raw sound but on the flipside it appears much weaker compared to the SNES sound and in this case the Amiga.....you would think the uploader would be butt-hurt with your opinion =)
Otouto72 (uploader) "Did the Amiga have better sound memory than the Genesis? I suppose this does sound tame compared to the Amiga version."
I think it's because the Mega Drive/Genesis wasn't as strong with samples- apparently only one of its channels supported PCM (sampled) output and required the main CPU to continually feed it with bits, making it processor intensive. The Amiga soundchip could fetch and playback sample data from memory without much intervention.
Doesn't much matter, Amiga needs RAM for samples, MD uses FM synthesis, actual hardware waveforms. It does use samples sometimes, but those can be pulled from cartridge ROM anyway, no RAM needed.
