You know what's interesting? I usually have a bad habit of going melee with mage types in these sort of games, but in this game I actually use my spells like I should. I still melee a lot, though. Also, I found an easy way of dealing with cockatrices with Angela. Air storm until they mature, then Holy Ball until they die. You could use Evil Gate all the way through instead, though.

You can do that too while a character is flying through the air with 1hp after a fatal attack you can make the enemy eat an attack spell if you so choose. Hell, I've done this AND saved the character from dying by healing them right after choosing my spell.

When I had the time, I used to max out all my stats before doing a class change. I had to do some INSANE Level grinding though.... So what I started to do was put the Cheat into ZSNES for triple exp, so it gauged more to regular game play.

HCBailly. If you hit 18 before you reach the fire &/or the water stone just go back to where you encountered Jinn. The wind stone should get you to your 2nd class change without having to waste a point on a stat when you hit 19 and you're only on your first class level. But i think you already know that :D

JB is a fan of Haven? Wow. I like that show, too. Of course, I'll pretty much watch anything that has Stephen King's name attached to it. The "IT" scene was pretty obvious, I'll agree with JB there.

Oh, BTW. If anybody cares, Haven is based on Stephen King's "The Colorado Kid."

You didn't demonstrate it (for the obvious reason) so I'll just say it.

If you save the Poto for last or second last, it will often spawn a Mama Poto (shouldn't it be Daughter Poto?). If you save the Mama Poto for last and it drops a chest, there's a chance it could contain a Wisp Statue, which imitates one of Angela's advanced spells. This is the earliest point in the game you can find an advanced Angela magic item.

From my experience, with the Potos it really is best to kill them last, which is quite counterintuitive when it comes to enemy parties with a healer. I mean, you'd think to kill the healer first, right? But with these guys, they only cast Heal Light when their OWN HP gets low, regardless of the other enemies. When they case Heal Light, it will be on the entire enemy party. Thus, it makes sense to kill them last, because at least then they're only regenerating themselves and not the others.

Yeah, I just watched that episode of ST: Voyager recently. Hadrosaur dinosaurs from earth apparently evolved and left the planet long ago and ended up in the Delta Quadrant, not remembering where they came from. They did have a head similar to these creatures in this game.

Dude, just started playing the old school RPG's, mostly this game, adn just finished this part, the best thing to do, is level up to 18 around the final golden statue of hte area, that way when you get out, you can just go to rolante and class change :D its what I did, and the final monsters of the cave give crazy exp

It's weird and takes a bit of getting used to, but really there is nothing like it. Even my mother liked it, and she usually doesn't get into RPGs.

@NeoStele stat caps are based on class, max level is 99 and if you reach that level without all your spells you're screwed out of getting them.

This cave and the few screens before it are my least favorite part of the game (strangely right after my favorite, Rolante). But it's all good from here on out.

@ZodiacSword1 It was mostly the controls. After dying on my third consecutive boss, that was enough for me. I'm just not very good at the game, and I don't like doing things I'm not good at. I thought outstanding music could conquer all, but I was wrong.
