Since a fellow YouTuber wrote me...I was prompted to watch this video again--So funny! Love dem tight-ass pants, big giant hair, high kicks, and over produced big arena rock! Whoo hoo!
To KDub1963:If 80's Metal were CRAP, there wouldn't be people who STILL listen to this. You can say that it is crap, but I have a question to you: WHY ARE YOU LISTENING TO THIS, IF YOU HATE IT SO MUCH???
We're still relatively close to the 80s era. Give it a few more decades and the only metal you'll hear will be from like 2 of the most popular bands and that'll be about it. And like I say above...if ya dig it-good! You wouldn't like everything I like either...but I am not going to go around saying, for instance, that the B52s are great musicians. Their music was fun, and I like that factor, but the Beatles, or Zep, or even U2 they are not. Don't you get it?
And to your ending question...sometimes getting a good laugh from something here on youtube is well worth the time it takes to watch it. And it's also fun to comment and get back replies from dorks like you with 'MaidenWarrior' as their screen name. To each his own bro---own it.
Sorry...you are right, and I am being a cynical ass, and that just isn't cool. I would much rather have people listen to this, with guitar played by real people who can actually play the thing, than think that junk that these pop idiots put out can even be called music, art, or original!
WAIT a MINUTE...There are seriously people who still honestly listen to this big-hair big-arena big-rock of the big 80s???? Egads...evolve people...EVOLVE!!! It's major Schlockety schlock! The term 'Pure Corn' comes to mind...
And by 'evolve' I mean learn... grow...understand...know...what good music is. Not 80s corn, or today's crap, but real music...with great musicianship. There is still 'heavy metal' but it is more in the line of a kind of punk style today...just no big or long hair to accompany it (thank goodness--it's such a dated look) I love guitar...but the lyrics of this song are painfully bad.
what would you class as great music then.... Trivium? Bullet For My Valentine?.... Atreyu??? The fact is I love music from the 80s, I love music from the 90s, and I love music from the 2000s. For me it doesnt matter what decade its from if its good. This stuff is all about having fun, cheer up, open a beer.
Good music is completely subjective to the listener. One person's trash is another one's treasure, kind of thing. Not all music I enjoy is 'great', but I also set certain standards: ie... good/great lyrics, interesting song structure, and/or creativity. From all things I hear and read...this particular song lacks on all of the above, so that is why I say the things I do.
So...lovers of 'pure corn'...embrace it and own it. I am not telling you not to like it, to each his own. But I don't see how one can try and claim this is 'great'...except maybe for the 'back in the day' factor of cracking a beer, banging your head, and doing the old 'fist in the air'.
I think, each to their own. In my opinion, all of the above things that KDUB said can attribute to a great song, but the most important thing of it all is catchyness. If you hear the song, and you are still humming it afterwards... its good. Of course people dont like this kinda stuff, its cheesy, no one pretends it isnt. I think its just about fun, if its not your idea of fun, fair enough
Yeah...you said it! Plus...I never said that I didn't like this song. As corny as it is...it is catchy and has a melodic appeal that begs singing along.
@KDub1963 crackin a beer, headbanging and fists in the air?
which is equal to our faggoty ass, guido fist pumps, awful pop music...hey im not gonna try and convince you that your music is terrible even tho it is..but in a simple way to put it..its still the same sappy and party songs, cept these guys could actually sing and play instruments...ill take the talent over the computer enhanced voices, fake tits and all the money these talented fools get to make for looking pretty
@KramerW5150 Hey, it's cool that you wrote me even though this was so long ago. However..I don't think that you read all my comments, cause yours does not make sense to me. I don't even say what music I like, I just use examples for arguments sake. But here is a link to something on YouTube that is really REAL and AUTHENTIC...just want to share with people:
dude i'm fucking 14 and i listen to this, so you fucking shut the hell up cause you don't know what good music is. go get laid you fucking twat...only nerds who comment on videos they don't like who waste our time especially on youtube! have never been laid.
I'm 16, straight-edge, and have enough sense to know when I should marry, and I listen to this "crap" as you call it! You know what, you don't even deserve my attack, you disgust me so much. Go home, find your porn channel, and masturbte with your tears as you cry, knowing you've been proven to be a complete jack-ass.
YM is no doubt talented esp.fusing classical and rock together and he's a great guitar player he is one of the best but not the best. But Joe tuner voice is nothing compares to don dokken !that's a voice and george Lynch is truely one of the greatest guitarist!
How funny was the begininning where it looked like he was going to ram his guitar into the camera. Anyone here see Deep Purple Cal. Jam? Inqwie copies Blackmore's old guitar tricks, techniques, stage shows and hires his old singers, I wonder if he goes after Blackers old girlfriends too. I could see this in 10 years.. Malmsteen's Night :)
Joe Lynn Is a God but Yngwie... well, I don´t want to insult Yngwie´s fans but - simply - Joe doesn´t match this circus. It´s not his level. He´s a nobleman of rock!
Jesus H. Christ, what a perfect combo... Yngwie Malmsteen and Joe Lynn Turner!!! Perfect rock vocalist meets perfect rock guitarist extraordinaire!!! I just came twice!!!!
Malmsteen is arguably the best guitarist in our lifetime. He combines classical training with unending innovativeness. Joe Lynn Turner's vocal style is a perfect match.

"This could be Paradise
Holding you here by my side
If we just close our eyes
We'll be in Heaven tonight.
Run through the night down streets of desire
Burning my soul, my heart's on fire
Give up the fight, it's sweet surrender"
OH YEAH...ROCK ON with these SUPER insightful lyrics!

80's hair metal beats anything in the mainstream today. 'Evolve?' Quality is quality. No genre is going to appeal to everyone.
