They've fucked up the story with that EEUU vs Russia shit. Ace Combat Zero had the best story ever, it was more about peace than exalt some north american pride...
Not that I'm saying HAWX is better, I think AC is much better, but, Extreme close range dogfight is NOT realistic. Many of the counter maneuvers are quite literally impossible, having such thing as 'DFM' where the airplane goes into autopilot and just simply follows the aircraft is NOT releastic! IMO, HAWX's assist is much realistic than DFM. The Helicopter controls are completely unrealistic.
That's the primary reason I'm apprehensive about getting this, it's only on the Xbox 360 and PS3 and neither of those feature a good joystick. Had it been on the PC like HAWX I'd have gladly bought it (I'd most likely pre-ordered it had it been released on PC).
What you are seeing in commercial is not the actual game play where you get to do it if you choose.
Those are prescripted and it would force you to watch that "movie". Yes..its a movie while you are forced to give controls to the gerbil in your pocket
playing the demo made me reevaluate my initial hesitation. realistic or not this game is FUN. and the storyline so far has been very well executed. I'm happy that they actually got a great writer to do the script for them.
I trust the story will be good enough. Some of the Russians are on our side and there's some kind of African insurgency thing, that already sets it apart from your typical East vs. West conflict.
Why not, as a continuation of the AC5 storyline, make it so that Belkan and Yuktobanian extremists hide out in Osea, Ustio, Belka, Yuktobania, and neighbouring countries in sleeper cells. These sleeper cells would all be in the military, and would eventually gather enough members to take over their respective AF bases. Then, they'd wage an attack on all countries involved in the CPW. Play as a yuke pilot!
If u tried the beta ull see no physics behind the game, ace combat always been behind the physics of the aircraft, but y now? What I'm trying to say is the aircraft fills like the arcade u can't barrow role, when u stall it's not a stall it's a 85mph slowly coming to the ground, umm u Bounse from the ground when u run into it. At any real point I'd think it's not bad for entertaining purposes - but I bellieve it's not like the US military would use it as a training excersize (Yea they used AC games for training excersizes with a 600 pounds game stick)

They will actually take people for rides in their fighter planes for a few thousand dollars. Thats how they're paying for their air force. We are far too advanced to lose against them. Our air force is the best in the world. In order for our f-22's to have even just a fair fight, there has to be 4 planes to one of our fighters. Not saying it wouldn't be long and bloody though.

I'm really kind of torn, I've played every game in the series for the Playstation (excluding PSP) back when the game was called Air Combat. I haven't played the one for Xbox (That one didn't sit well with me). None the less, I'm kind of torn about this. I really hope they don't ruin a good thing. Even though their old AC5 and AC:Zero were the two best, that I played. I just don't want my favorite franchise to get ruined, this looks like it has the potential to do just that.

I played electrosphere back on PS1 and loved every second of it, but I always disliked the rest of the series for going with the fictional settings. This looks promising. Like Battlefield and Gears of War in the sky, except at MACH SPEED!

I know they are well skilled, but think about it. which country and what planes did this ace fight? some ragtag middle east country with outdated migs? There's only one way to settle this and its not going to happen, because us and israel are allied. But our air force as a whole is 100% undeniably better, period. Our training, equipment, and the men who fly them are the best. As a whole WE ARE THE BEST. There is no contest, sorry.

I'm really kind of torn, I've played every game in the series for the Playstation (excluding PSP) back when the game was called Air Combat. I haven't played the one for Xbox (That one didn't sit well with me). None the less, I'm kind of torn about this. I really hope they don't ruin a good thing. Even though their old AC5 and AC:Zero were the two best, that I played. I just don't want my favorite franchise to get ruined, this looks like it has the potential to do just that.

I played electrosphere back on PS1 and loved every second of it, but I always disliked the rest of the series for going with the fictional settings. This looks promising. Whoa now settle down people. This is Project Aces. One of the few companies has always made good stories in their games. Heck even 6 had a decent storyline. So what if it has Yuktobanians.... uhh i mean Russians in it? If they have a good story like the past games (and i don't see why not) the "clique" won't matter. Besides I'm sure Project Aces has a few twists up their sleeves, just remember AC: 5. Almost the exact same setup. I'm just...... Saiyan

looks like there are some dislikes for this game mainly because of quite different look from traditional AC games, but Hey, they are making it to make some changes. That's why it's not named AC7. This one is off the series.

Till now, they've being working on fictional world and countries but not this one.
I think I saw the video interview with creator of AC series on youtube, and he said "this ons is off the series, to try out new style" or something like that

This looks like crap. I'm really disappointed in what I'm seeing in this game. First it was generic action sequences that looked like they were on rails, and now I get generic action sequences that look like they belong in Call of Duty. Really? Markov? That's basically fucking Makarov. I liked it better when it was Belka and Osea. Where's my Ace Combat 5 HD remake? The Ghosts of Razgriz would shit on this 108th Task Force.

I agree. The whole Call of Duty look and references (I swear in one of the trailers there is a guy with the same mask as "ghost" from modern warfare 2) just make me want to hit my head on a table. I don't get where they came to the conclusion that to make a good game, you need to have the Americans Vs, Russians theme going on which plagues games today.
There should so be a petition to make a Ace Combat 5 Remake or something on the lines of that instead of this crap.

Americans dont always win in Hollywood. If you look at any conflict we've been in, we generally win most of the battles. Even in Vietnam.
