everyone i need some help, i recently took up bow hunting and i am making a ghillie suit, not all of it, just some, the trousers are custom made, the rest is an actuall ghillie suit, would it be a good idea to once i get to where im hunting to seccure some of the surrounding vegetation to it?
@Jacko643 Yes. I'd go to the spot you will be hunting at a day or two before you hunt and get some natural veggies secured to your ghille suit. And make sure you go a few days before so you dont leave a lot of your scent behind.

That is exactly what I was thinking. They would actually choose a ghillie that blends better into the environment, and he would use brush and vegetation from his surrounding environment to make himself part of the landscape.

@MrDip02 LMAO no that is not the standard range for snipers. Can they shoot that far and hit there target? Yes but the average is about 600-700yds with a fair amount below that for Iraq(Urban). Afghanistan is about the only place where you have the opportunity to engage a target at that range or further (world record being two kills at 1.5miles)

personally i think wearing a ghillie suit for paintball is a bit retarded, if you are found and shot wouldnt it ruin your ghillie? and if not i doubt that you should wash it or if it even comes off very well.

I was in a group of experienced guys that were ambushed in a Dollack 24 hour scenario at Xtreme Paintball Park in Millstadt, Illinois. It was a fun fight; he was just a few yards past the wood line and firing into the field. Although he claimed to be a sniper too, he must have forgot to move after an engagement because I resurrected and barrel touched the back of his head while he was waiting for the next suckers to come across the killing field. Ghillie suits are fun, real sniper or not.
Whoever said that airsoft sucks and ur 200 dallar gun broke when u dropped it cuz it was plastic ur a dumb ass for buying a 200 plastic gun!! And fyi.. airsoft is faster.. most games fps rounds to about 400 to 450... paintball only 200 to 300... and more accurate, u just don't know jack shit about it

as others said before, he was in an open spot, with the wrong color cover, with little-to-no cover, and was incredibly obvious when he did aim. In addition, his location had too great a chance of him being stepped on. and stepping on a person feels very different than stepping on trail.
@malaymercernary Ok so maybe he's a "rookie sniper" if there is such a thing but I spotted him plain as day. If he is a sniper, he's not using any of the techniques he learned in school. Plus his ghillie is nothing like the ones they teach the Marine snipers to make.

I doubt anyone actually went out there with a yard stick and measured that out - when you're talking about distances like they were shooting at, a tiny error can mean a LONG distance!
@Yumyumtuna What was funny was that the original holder that was a US marine made his longest shot with the M40 sniper rifle (.308). He tagged the guy in one shot then another with one more. The Canadian used a .50 cal and it took more then a few shots to actually hit someone. The Brit used a .338 lapua magnum which has better ballistics and range then the 308. In essence the Brit and the Canadian had to "cheat" in order to win. (Not that they were actually competing just doing their jobs.)
@leetsnipez I'm not sure of all those specifics, but all we can know is what the man up top wanted us to. But, assuming your statistics are correct.. how were the Canadian and the Brit cheating? Because their militarys supplied them with more capable equipment/no-one else has chosen to carry a weapon such as those that were used, enabling them to kill at such ranges? I can tell that you're upset that one of your country's soldiers was outshot?
@leetsnipez Regardless, don't get your panties in a bunch over who shot further.. you have to realize that the information went from the persons who witnessed the shot, allllll the way to us.. any ONE step could have been corrupted, and the whole package spoiled. The witnesses could have simply figured "wow, that must have been 2,500 meters! Let's measure it.. 2,000? Oh well.. let's just stick with 2,500.". You'd have to be quite nieve to think that the information is pure.

as others said before, he was in an open spot, with the wrong color cover, with little-to-no cover, and was incredibly obvious when he did aim. In addition, his location had too great a chance of him being stepped on. and stepping on a person feels very different than stepping on trail.

1) the snipers position
2) the OpFor was way overdoing it
3) the guy he shot stopped randomly in the middle of the bridge
and most damming of all 4) why was there a camera facing exactly where the guy was, when he was shot and where he was shot?

not real, a true marine scout sniper especially wouldnt be spotted before firing, and also would not be spotted after firing or he would not have passed sniper school, real marine scout snipers are the stealthyest most accurate combatants this world has to offer.

I doubt anyone actually went out there with a yard stick and measured that out - when you're talking about distances like they were shooting at, a tiny error can mean a LONG distance!

@Yumyumtuna What was funny was that the original holder that was a US marine made his longest shot with the M40 sniper rifle (.308). He tagged the guy in one shot then another with one more. The Canadian used a .50 cal and it took more then a few shots to actually hit someone. The Brit used a .338 lapua magnum which has better ballistics and range then the 308. In essence the Brit and the Canadian had to "cheat" in order to win. (Not that they were actually competing just doing their jobs.)

Because their militarys supplied them with more capable equipment/no-one else has chosen to carry a weapon such as those that were used, enabling them to kill at such ranges? I can tell that you're upset that one of your country's soldiers was outshot?

@leetsnipez Regardless, don't get your panties in a bunch over who shot further.. you have to realize that the information went from the persons who witnessed the shot, allllll the way to us.. any ONE step could have been corrupted, and the whole package spoiled. The witnesses could have simply figured "wow, that must have been 2,500 meters! Let's measure it.. 2,000? Oh well.. let's just stick with 2,500.". You'd have to be quite nieve to think that the information is pure.

They wait until the group separates or they just wait for back up to arrive at which point they still dont fire they just provide tactical information for the other troops so the kids who made this video are either rejected marines, or total fucking retards.
