  • I'm Spanish and some words that are Indian sound Spanish :O dos

  • You can clearly see that Hindi and English are related on some level (and indeed, they are both Indoeuropean languages).

  • so wat wud 21 b????????

  • thank you

  • Six seems to be written छः or छह् (from what i know, even if the pronunciation is the same, but it seems illogical) and for some reason it's pronounced 'Che' rather than 'Chah' (the way its written).

Also why is त romanised as TH while it is a very distinct T like 'tea' unlike ठ (th, palatal) or ट which should be like T but a bit softer?

  • There are some inaccuracies even for someone who's a beginner, unfortunately Sanskrit and Devanagari, even if using the exact same alphabet are a bit different, the former which is or was the original form doesn't use the 'remove vowel' mark (्) at the bottom of the consonant while Devanagari does it almost automatically unless you put ा (-aa) at the end of it.

  • Almost like kurdish.

  • yay...i love this...atleast i can count to 20 in spanish, french and hindi now!!!

  • i know how to count to seven :-]

  • हाय अच्छा वीडियो

    -Jitesh

  • I can count till 25 and the 10's, and a few other numbers in between. I just can't get the other numbers besides these though. It sucks. We had Hindi as a subject from class 2 to 10th. Still can't get the logicbehind hindi numerals. :0

  • there shld be a 'h' at the end in the english spelling of numbers.......so its solah

  • I speak Persian and in Persian we pronounce many of these number the same way as Hindi.

    Good job making these vids.

  • Yek, do, se, char, punj, shish, haft, hasht, noh, dah. :)

  • are balkhi jan... to ham dari hendi yad migiri?:D

  • LOL! Hendi yad daram vali farsim yadam rafte :(

  • very useful, but please add the missing numbers!! ie 21 to 99 - as they are each unique, would be very helpful to listen to them to help memorise!

  • Agree, or at least till 50 would be great!

  • i live in new york , usa and my cousins live in india so they always recommend me to learn hindi as they laugh when i speak hindi...

  • Please post more lessons!! And it's interesting, much of those numbers sound just like Persian. (I'm half Persian, so...) It must be because they're both Aryan languages...

  • it could also be due to the fact that the "arabic numerals" are in fact from India and due to the spice trade got spread into other regions as well :)

  • Its not just the numbers that are the same but they also have a lot of words. I can speak hindi because i spent a few years in delhi but didnt know how similar our languages are. Now every time we watch a movie my wife picks up words and says hey thats the same as persian. I would suggest you watch hindi movies without subtitles. :)

  • 21 is pronounced as EEK-KEESS

  • how do u say 21, 21 in hindi. is it Bees ek. bees do or diffrent? Shukria

  • you say 21 like ikees. Each number has its own name upto 100 unlike english so its kind of hard to know all the number names.

  • AWESOME VID. I only knew how to count in hindi upto 10 ..now I know more^^YAY...thanks dude!^_^

  • OMG thats so weird some of the numbers sound so much like Polish and russian numbers

  • ० १ २ ३ ४ ५ ६ ७ ८ ९ १० २० ३० ४० ५० ६० ७० ८० ९० १००

    धन्यवाद(Dhanyavaad)

  • when we say a number in english we don't say and, because the and represents a decimal.
