@mayari2008 That should not have been given ippon; the guy was not thrown onto his back perfectly - his shoulders were not even touching the ground. It was a good counter but not perfect - not ippon. I'd have given him wazari. This is an example of a fight that should have gone to newaza, rather than given an ippon by judges whose standards for ippon are lax.

I firstly see it and think, "wow amazing ippon from the georgian". But then see it again and the french the same direction is doing the attack, so I would say that was no score.

But I´m not a referee...

you must not be seeing right; the georgian used perfect counter technique. he's in control. look who ends up on top. it's a perfect sutemiwaza.

that's the key to this counter.

It's not who is attacking, or who executes the technique, it is who lands in what way. White lands on his "back" (more like his side.) He may have been on his back enough for it to be ippon. The main question to that would be how much power was in the attack, and that throw had a lot of power.

I think you are absolutely right. Benboudaouds leg goes only up because he wants to and after that his body moves just the way it would have if he would hit Margoshvilis leg with the o-soto. No throwing effort from Margoshvili at all. He is lucky to avoid the score against him and thats it. Props to him for that. But definitely no Ippon on his side.

In my opinion: the french atacked, the georgian counter atacked...and the french defended the counter atack, so... "nothing happened" (i'm looking for the heads, at 00:06 the french is in control, at 00:07 (almost 00:08) the georgian get the control, and both of them defended (very well) the attacks.

Georgian isnt best in Judo, Janap is, with 112 Gold medals, next is France. with 77 i tihnk. but Georgia, my motherland, has [roduced one of the very best Judokas in the world, that for sure:)

If I had tried that (and I am Georgian trained) Id have snapped my back in half. That's really hard to do. All that ura nage and te guruma stuff is real he-man judo. You have to be really REALLY strong to do it. My trainers, Gaela, Bizu, and Leo are all as strong as horses. They'd kill ya. And do it smiling!
