I went the modified usb keyboard route before I found the POK and let me tell you, it's not even close. I took all the keys off of the apple keyboard that came with my tower except the ~, Z,5, N, and | + the NumPad 7 & 3keys (I have big feet) but there was NO *feel* to it and that's just not enough keys. But the POK... I had it programmed in seconds and I can use the switcher to switch between different set ups. And I can get it over to my piano, which I could not do before. WELL worth it.
POK is essentially a $500 (list) wireless usb keyboard. Insane. You can find three button USB foot switches for 40 bucks, or build your own with a 25$ wireless keyboard and a 10$ pedal enclosure, some quality foot switches (maybe 15 bucks) and about 15 minutes of soldering. So 50 bucks and maybe an hour of work could save you 450 bucks.
@theberlindoctor yeah just buy a cheap ass wireless keyboard or ask friends or family if they have one laying around and rip most keys out of it onlu leaving s h l and enter or whatever you like. Or have a buddy who just does all the loop launching and recording with his keyboard while you play the live instruments.
because when u use return for effects u have the advantage of having both the dry sound and the wet sound , depending on how much u send :) , i use the same with compression , so i get uncompressed sounds WITH compressed sounds at the same time :) , if u put the effect directly to da channel u will have only the reverbed sound :) if u know what i mean :D , send me msgs if u need help with ableton , ill b glad 2 help :)
Cool! Thnx, lady!

What do you think about using a electric violin like a Yamaha electric violin?
stradviolinus 2 years ago
I also use a Fender electric violin which is quite heavy but I am planning on getting a 5 string acoustic with a built in jack

wow nice , but i have question . why did u use the Return for the effect instead of just adding it in the same Audio u r Recording in ?

interesting...ableton always seemed like the easiest on stage DAW....like on the fly perfomance......
hard to do this with sonar/cubase and others.
