When your using ram coaching, if you dedicate 8gb to windows; (by seeing the performance of 4.8gb read, 7gb write does that mean that windows will boot faster or what. Can someone explain that to me?

@john0022 I don't think so, as RAM is volatile storage. Caching - generally speaking - means that something has to be fetched the normal way (from local disk, network, etc), and then a copy will be kept ("cached") for future high-speed access. When you're booting up, a RAM cache will typically be empty. That said, I don't know the specifics of the exact system they describe here.

I can not find the 8Gb dominator memory anywhere, new egg isn't even selling it though i need in the UK. I wanted to get 32Gb 4 dimms (better cooling instead of 8x4Gb) and basically same set-up, though contemplating GTX590 instead of GTX580 quad-SLI. Windows ultimate on 120Gb SSD with WD 2TB 7200rpm x2. Probs swop out the Asus sound card for a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium. All set-up in a thermaltake lvl10 GT case all water cooled and overclocked to 4.6Ghz. Just waiting now :)

have these guys not heard of HyperOS or HyperDrive5 - these types of things have been around for years... ie true Bootable RAM Drive using DDR - NOT SSD and not some pseudo pussy ram cache that you have to boot to first and copy to first - these real ram drives will boot windows in less than 1 second. and open any program in less than 1 second.

lol i think it's funny,that he vsaid you could only get an overlock of 4.3ghz on air,on that cpu.but that same guy,was able to get a bulldozer fx-8130,which is a stock clock clock of 3.1ghz,to 4.8 on air easily.
