I quess you get what you pay for; my understanding is the radio will not pass the FCC requirements on harmonics

For your convince, you can charge the radio directly and not remove the battery from the handset. Do you have a link to where you can buy the radio from? All the one's I found on eBay were running for about $48+

I dont know if it does split but it definitely does repeater offsets.

the charger sucks btw.. i had mine 2 months and the voltage reg popped...but it charges on 5volt so anyting that will power usb will charge this :)
