  • it looks remarkably like a fuschia

  • @lexichronicle The nickname of the 7 foot plant is the fuchsia flowering googeberry

  • @tallthinwavy3 Fuchsia flowering gooseberry or in latin : ribes speciosum

  • Well, you certainly don't suffer from a lack of confidence...keep up the good work, I enjoyed it.

  • Yes, I think it's especially exciting to see hummers feeding on flowers (though some of the feeder videos here are quite remarkable, too!) I've never seen a flowering gooseberry, and the plant itself is amazing, with or without the avian visitor. Do you have any still pics of the gooseberry posted anywhere? I'd love to see more detail on the blossoms.

  • You gotta start somewhere. ; )

  • yeah bob, im glad i was sitting down for that excitment.

  • Nice tree!

  • It is a flowering goosberry. Ribes speciosum

    thanks

  • Thanks. Nice video. It's more interesting to see hummers at trees and flowers than at feeders (although that's certainly worth seeing, as well).

  • @tallthinwavy3 How frost resistant is it? Tender, Hardy or Very Hardy?

  • @oomblikkies . Holds up here at in the 20'sF. But can die if a lot of ice will get on it. Blooms from April - June in western Oregon.
