Anybody that knows what it takes to learn PSG would not have such thoughtless opinions and would not be so degrading to such a excellent player as David Hartley. When you play all your life, everyday, and to have been lucky to play for a living (Hell,just playing in a cover band and playing correct intros and outros ,takes years of work!) you are as great as Lloyd and Tommy ! Some people need to clean out their ears....and or have their diaper changed...

this is from a show/VHS entitled" An evening of E9th"...both Loyd and Tommy are pickin' on the E9th neck which when pedals AB are 'IN" the E9th tuning is now an A6 tuning. Lots of great music up there as we can see and hear !
Is this performance posted for "judgement" or even "comparison?" Maybe I'm missing something here, but I prefer to just enjoy these wonderful musicians, the same way I enjoy "E" and I enjoyed Curly, and Speedy, and all of the wonderful people who've mastered this difficult instrument.
David Hartley is a steel player who ISN'T a professional! Both of these guys are. And I don't reckon Mr. Green would denigrate Mr. Hartley - so why are you?
Its not about outclassing - on a good night, Buddy Emmons could outclass them all - or could he?!
Just enjoy the music and accept that new players come with new ideas..........
For those who enjoy good steel picking find "davepedalsteel" on YouTube. He's as good as I've ever heard. I'm NOT denigrating the two musicians playing this video.

Quite possibly the two best steel guitarists ever! Not only are they fantastic musicians, they are also both two of the nicest people you will ever meet too.
Tightest steel duet Ive seen to date! I read the remarks on the SGF and this post is cool, good on them! For what its worth my 2 cents on this is that it is the best leg up any potential artist can have for increased sales. I have probably parted with more money as a result of performances seen in part on here, then sought out the merchandise and bought it officially, if not abused it is a wonderful window! Back to the clip! Wonderful playing from two great guys! Good post! thank you

Lloyd was my daddy's favorite steel player and Tommy is the best steel player in the world playing today! NO EQUAL for me!!
Hope this can stay but i'm afraid it will be gone!
