@Wabajac well dude you can tell how he sings it , it came straight the heart. i rented the movie cause a friend told me it was a documentary about kurt cobain...well that friend is a morn but anyways. i was falling asleep then he played this song and i just opened my eye's and just layed there on the couch didn't even know what to say it blew me the fuck away man. after that i just sat there and smoked a cig in silence..then of course learned it haha...plus it was on his bands album

According to a documentary i watched some time ago, Pitt improvised songs for the first few takes of the scene but nothing worked(one song was about macaroni and cheese). He was eventually talked into playing 'Death to Birth'. I'm glad he did because it is a beautiful song.

Gus Van Sant's (the director of Last Days) tried to put you (the viewer) in the state of mind of Blake (the lead character) by leaving LONG sequences, a missing storyline and an empty plot. It's very creative imo, and not everyone gets it, but there was definately a point to all of it.
