I always used to play this song in our local, so when they got rid of the jukebox, the landlord gave me the single. What a nice geezer! I've still got it now :)
I am so happy to hear this version. I was quite disappointed to buy the CD (Just for this song) only to find it wasn't the same at all. Many thanks for posting it. Many happy memories of turning this up full blast on vinyl and jamming...I mean seriously J A M M I N G ... Cheers xoxoxo
@69nell Well basically this was the song that got me listening...LOL Now I play them for my daughter and she loves Gothic..Hopefully one day they will play it just for you ;)Thanks for the reply :)
@sumwotcurvie Yeah, this version ( a complete rip off of a Henry Badowski track) is way better than the pop commercial one on Phantasmagoria '85. Check Gnasher77's comment below. The guy was bang on.
cool, i like this version too, 1st time hearing it (my cd version only has 2 extra remixes for "Grimly Fiendish" & "Shadow of Love"). I've been addicted to the original lately for some reason. I've been into this band for about 10 years now (even though they've been around for as long as i've been alive), & have been little by little listening to as much of their catalog as i can. I can't get enough!
Whose the sucker now !

Glad this brings you good memories :)

livingdeadpunk138 1 year ago
@69nell they always did in OC and LA back in the 80's

@sumwotcurvie I love both versions but this is the best one by far.

Gnasher, whilst I agree certain elements and arrangements sound similar, the overall project from The Damned is , lets be honest, pretty good.

In turn though the Henry Badowski track does sound like Brian Eno's True Wheel, Fools borrow geneous steal.....
Gnasher77 1 year ago
What a total rip off of Henry Badowski's "Baby sign here with me" check it out if you don't believe me....
Gnasher77 1 year ago
@Gnasher77
I checked it out, and it certainly sounds alike a lot.
Badowski actually played bass with The Damned for a short period in 1978, replacing Lemmy.
I don't own the single so I'm not sure if they give Henry some credit.
livingdeadpunk138 1 year ago
@livingdeadpunk138 - Sorry, mate - no credit to Mr. Badowski on either 12" single cover or album.

@HansOhnerass Haha what a shame, maybe they thought no one would notice, or they believed themselves too punk for that.
livingdeadpunk138 4 months ago
@Gnasher77 fair enough it does but this version is the best!
doobiedubstep 1 year ago
@Gnasher77 But he ripped off Eno's "The True Wheel." Check it out if you don't believe me.

I like this version better than the LP version

@livingdeadpunk138 Album version was so weak. Scabies' drumming is in your face here, Brynn is funky as hell....
