Hearsay and storytelling *are* evidence. They're very, very bad evidence, but they have their uses. For instance, the fact that we have all the stories about Jesus in the Bible are enough to tell us that is worthwhile asking the question of whether Jesus existed, and to make an enquiry into further potential sources of evidence to see if the story is bourne out. Well, I'll bet you it was at least in part because there were some old stories about it being inhabited (ie. in the Bible, perhaps among other sources). Unless they just stuck pegs in the ground at random and got lucky, or decided to dig up the whole of Palestine in a meter-square grid, which I doubt.

@stephenrblv As I understand it, being Jewish isn't really a "religion". It's more of a lifestyle based on observing traditions. I do let Muslims have it every year on "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day". I tend to concentrate on Christians because I live in the US and I consider them a bigger threat to our country's future than terrorism.

I just want to say you are great. On another note you asked if anyone could prove Jesus was real, I'm not a Christian but I might be able to prove it. I heard the Gospel of St. Thomas was written based on his speeches. I don't know when they were written though, so if you could shine some light on it, please let me know. And, just to let you know, I celebrate Christmas BECAUSE it's a pagan holiday. And did you know that the church puts immaculate conception in the same month?

@lycerkie Scholars can't agree on a date when the Gospel of St. Thomas was written, but all their esitmates range from 60 AD to as late as 340 AD - all of which would be after Jesus would have already been dead. Like I said in the video, if anyone had ever found irrefutable evidence that Jesus actually existed they would be famous worldwide - everyone would know that person's name and we'd only have on religion today. But that's not the case, is it? The Bible is just fairytales and nothing more.

I hate to be a "Rabble rouser" but if the 99% doesn't "step things up" things will only continue to get worse. Hearsay and storytelling *are* evidence. They're very, very bad evidence, but they have their uses. For instance, the fact that we have all the stories about Jesus in the Bible are enough to tell us that is worthwhile asking the question of whether Jesus existed, and to make an enquiry into further potential sources of evidence to see if the story is bourne out. And I think we all know how that turns out. But the point stands. I think :-)
