Is the body agathis or basswood?

Thinking about buying a B-50 or B-55, but Guitar Center and Musician's Friend list the body as agathis, while the current ESP homepage lists it as basswood.

And I'm sick of basswood for bass bodies.

The two guys of in flames are no "good" guitarist as when it comes to stunning solos and shit, but when it comes to playing in flames, its all about the feel to your instrument, playing fluently and relaxed. Its what lots of people forget, theyd be like "yo, i can play fuckin necrophagist and shit" and its horrbile.

But you definately nailed it right there, nothing to criticise: 10/10

1) what strings are you using?

2) have you tried the tremolo version? Is it as good as the fixed bridge version?

3) the guitar stays in tune reasonably?

I've had some experience with both (I own the fixed bridge version, but have tried the tremolo one out for a little bit).

The tremolo on the guitar is great, one of my favorite stock whammies out there definently, but there's no locking nut or anything of that nature, so yeah; it goes out of tune if you abuse it.

Hmm, probably using the tremolo in "a blues context" wouldn't put the guitar out of tune, isn't it? I have previous bad experiences with whammy on guitars, my current guitar goes out of tune almost for each whammy bar usage... Probably changing the nut and putting locking tuners might also help :)

It'a not made for big whammy dives and the such, but subtle usage should be fine.

I highly doubt PRS would release the guitar without a nut if it really needed it.
