  • This music makes me happy. first time Ive heard it in years. Thank you!

  • remember this song/ i even searched for it !!

  • love it

  • They use to play this years ago on the jazz station n Detroit ...I luv it

  • I love this song OMG :)

  • Growing up in Detroit, I used to hear this song play all the time. How I loved this song back in 1991. It brings back pleasant memories. Don't know if got radio play anywhere else but it definetly got played on the Quiet Storm. I have been looking for this song for the last 15 years or so and with there being so many songs titled "My Favorite Thing" it proved difficult to find. Nevertheless, none compare to this 1. I love your voice Hari, and if your ever n concert, I'm buying front row tickets.

  • @Mention73 This is just another in a very long line of underrated songs and artists that we should thank WGPR for introducing us to. Detroiters know what station I'm talking about.

  • @lightning95sc

Actually you have WJZZ to thank for this wonderful tune when the real jazz DJs like Rosetta Hines & Tony Hoye ran the airwaves at jzz which sadly is now defunct . When Jzz was taken over, their music anthology was given or sold to WGPR.

  • @Lanerena

Then that explains why Mason has such a vast library to choose from. I know he probably has an exceptional collection of his own( Hell, I have stuff that is just way beyond my years), but he comes up with stuff that just has'nt been heard in years.....And I love it, like this song. BTW, thanks for the correction, you're absolutely right.

  • @Mention73 I'm from Detroit as well and the Quiet Storm & wjzz played this all the time. this is the jam so happy i found it.

  • why is music so crap these days? Rap is horrible Pop is shit and rock is sounding more like punk ballads, all the great music is in the shadows and less known.

  • I always thought this song was sang by the lady that sang Oasis, I wish I could remember her name.

  • This song was and still is the truth! I play it everyday...I was abt 11 when it came out and now I'm 30. Loved it as a child and as an adult. This is truly good music.

  • Is this song available anywhere? I'm in Jamaica and would like to have it in my collection. Such sweet memories!

  • Got this on promo when it first came out. Beautiful song and lyrics, definately one for when the lights are down low and your girl is in your arms...this tune says it all.

  • Yes this song can surely move you and Hari Paris has such a wide variety of tones!! stay blessed Mrs Paris

  • I just love this song...I have been trying to figure out for years what the name of it was and who made it...I'm glad to find it here...I was a kid when it came out but never forgot it...now it makes me think of my hubby!:)

  • was so happy to find this song here, first heard it about 20 years ago, lots of memories (riding around with fav homegirl on Sunday nights, we were still wet behind the ears, listening to "Sunday Night Subway", before her short life was ended in a car wreck shortly thereafter). I just love this song; so simple and elegant. We were not even in love with any guys @ the time I don't think, just loved riding Sunday nights and hearing this come on the radio....

  • Haven't heard this song in years. Used to be played to death on Jazz FM back in the day but always loved listening to it. Takes me back to some good times, especially slow dancing to this with a special lady in your arms. Great to hear it again and thanks for the post.

  • love you Calvin and Hari.....Detroit city loves you.

  • There was a Person (DeeJayRoyalT) posted a year ago. If you're still interested in who he sax player was, his name is Skipp Pruitt. He happen to be one of the most talented musicians on a sax that I had heard during that time.. He has such a intimate sound with his horn...Hope that helps you out. Sincerely, Hari Paris

  • Thank you for the support of My Favorite Thing. I am so happy that the song was able to move you in a way that you'd not forget it. If you only knew what I felt writing and creating the music for this song, you'd know it was all about love. I genuinely appreciate you sharing that part of my life with me..Remembering many of the faces that were singing along with me live and on the radio. Be Blesssed.. Sincerely, Hari Paris

  • @rruffin...I wish they'd put this song back in rotation. I can listen to it over and over again... "holding you, squeezing you, loving you..is my favorite thang" lol

  • This song has a lot of sentimental meaning to me. I actually witnessed venues in which this song debuted a long time ago with a dear friend of mine Lamont Williams (featured Drummer). I have been searching for him for years now. We had always kept in touch in the past. I miss him tremendously.
