  • Does this have to do with your Broken Ribs ?

  • Thank ya Thank ya

  • Thanks for the tip, helps us small collectors out :-)

  • NZ Rep

  • That site wouldn't help me here in Brazil. All imports over 50 dollars are charged a 60% import tax. Collecting in Brazil sucks, unless you are into pirated systems/games. Then it's a Paradise. Never thought I'd see Mortal Kombat for the NES.....

  • Dude... I've seen like a gazillion yt gamer videos but you really seem to know your stuff better than anyone. Props for what you are doing and for helping people out with their collections; you're fking awesome. Much respect from someone that has a hard time respecting anything at all.

  • Being able to access the Jap market via Rinkya is great and would never dispute that, but Rinkya themselves certainly charge you a hefty price for the service... I just bought something that cost $104 Aud, went through their checkout and it ended up being about $149 after their fees etc... Still need to pay for shipping as well which they will put another 25% on top of. Admittedly I couldn't find the product elsewhere, so its great, but wow the fees are steep!

  • You told them about Rinkya??? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

    :-)

  • Great Collection You got there it looks like a store

  • I want that room.

  • Ok you are the man!!! I just ordered 3 SNES and 10 Mega Drive games ive been after, the prices on commition can be a bit high but buying in bulk saves you heaps.. All this time I could have been getting my Jap stuff from rinkya..

I owe you big time buddy

  • I had a wee look around that place and the fees they are asking seem a bit steep. Am i reading this correctly you win an item at $85 and you pay them $40 extra which doesn't include delivery costs? I looked up Final Fight Tough and a mint copy was going for 18,000 yen which seems even more steep than Ebay. The other thing is the searching can be a bit finnicky too, whenever you type in your key words it seems to just direct you to links of pre-translated search templates instead.

  • Thanks for sharing this!

  • man you are awesome, i never heard of that company, so thanks a lot =)

  • Drug dealer XD Lol

Your collection is beautiful. I don't consider myself as a game collector, but I still have my 12 SNES games and dunno where my NES and the games my parents bought for it are, maybe they gave them to a poor cousin or something while I was overseas studing (if thats the case then I approve). I I own a Wii and PS3 but I don't use the Wii anymore so I focus entirely on my PS which I own 44 games so far, and I pay for them so I'm proud so far.

  • I'm studying the prices after the additions and it all seems more expensiv if anything? Maybe I am reading it wrong? I bought a fair few games from my visit to Japan recently and these prices seems far higher, especially after additions. You can get Dracula XX for SFC for $15-$20 in mint condition in shops in Akihabara. Any advice?

  • @Temposama dang dude $15-20 is cheap. I was just in Akihabara last weekend and Dracula XX was 5,000 Yen.

  • @Tochir0

They had about 5 copies or so in Traders. No lie :p

  • @Temposama Looks like I'll be back next weekend :(

  • I thought the best tip for video game collecting is having loads of money.

  • @onetunafish na cos then if you were ever going to sell it, youd sell on a loss if you just bought every game no matter what the price. I started a year ago with $400 and have just bought bundles really low and sell for a profit keeping what i want- my collections got a bit rediculous now and i still havnt spent over the original $400- id say game for game its worth quite a few thousand- hopefully ten years time quite a lot more

  • @finly42 it really depends on what are you are collecting. are you going for full/complete games or loose ones? imports? rare consoles and obscure japanese computers? Depending on the answer, 400 might be a lot or very little.

  • @onetunafish my paypal isnt linked to my bank account so i make sure i only buy on credit ive got all the what i consider 'classics'- mainly nintendo 1st party for snes, n64, cube and gameboy boxed and complete. Im pretty happy with what ive got- and im hoping nintendo- also sega will be the ones everyones after in 10 years boxed rather than xbox and playstaion. Only a couple more i want/need but not sure if i can quit there lol ie never intended collecting gameboy or cube lol but it hapopened

  • @finly42 that is very nice :) If you focus on these consoles I'm sure you find many nice deals.

  • @onetunafish cheers lol i do feel im going slightly crazy but its good to see other people in the same boat and blissfully happy. I would have thought sega would have been worth a lot more as i originally planned on genesis/megadrive and snes, the fact that they dont make consoles you would have thought they would be the most collectable?

  • @finly42 most sega titles are not that expensive and easy to find, however the titles released at the end of genesis/megadrive life are both rare and pricey. They are definitively very collectible. If you count the SegaCD as well, titles like Snatcher are quite expensive.

  • @onetunafish also with referance to this vid do you or anyone know the appeal of japanese games? ive never understood that unless all you guys are randomly fluent in japanese. They seem worth alot more for most games like you see a western wave race for example go for like a dollar but a japanese one go for at least 10. But then again a japenese megaman game goes for like 10 dollars but a pal one in particular goes for hundreds- im sooo confused........

  • @finly42 I think the japanese games from the 8 & 16 bit era are freaking awesome. My collection is mainly focused on japanese releases, so yes, I'm crazy about them :)

  • @onetunafish lol fair enough i must admit my favorite snes game of all time is twinbee rainbow bell ad which is a japanese port (at least i can only assume lol far too hectic and colourful to be created anywhere else in the world) but i guess thats because i never had a sonic on a sega- 8 and 16 bit is all round awesome as its arcade style pic up and play but if i had japanese games on the cube id be paranoid about deleting the game rather than saving as i dont speak japanese, also no story then

  • I used to buy on yahoo auctions for North America. I think they shut those down but I could be wrong. I collect North American releases so this might not exactly help me much but it's worth checking out if only for browsing purposes :)

  • oh no, the secret is unveiled. Ha ha

  • Thanks for sharing this info. Some sellers on eBay take advantage of people new to the collecting scene. Some people will buy an expensive game just coz the fact its been listed with a high price on eBay. I kid you not, I once saw a sealed copy of chrono trigger for $250,000 U.S. I'm sure it didn't sell though! But it just shows how ridiculous it can get on there.

  • Finally a Youtuber sharing his secrets with the little people! Thanks!

  • Great video bro Thanks for the tips watching your videos now i have start to collect as well but slowly i still over the games room every guys dream looking forward to more videos Thanks.

  • Thanks for the tips!, I was wondering what shelves you use, there not very deep which i really like, thanks!

  • Thanks for that one. I really want to get a Japanese Sega Master System so Rinkya looks like the place to get one.

  • Good on you for sharing, should be more people willing to share the love in this way. Cheers :)

  • Thanks for the tip.

I've have actually started collecting Super Famicom games, I'll definitely check this out.

Great video and it's nice to see you back and well. Cheers!

  • YES!!! THANK YOU!!! Mate I've been looking for a place like this for the last 10 years.

  • But if it's not a secret anymore.. prices will go up? :)

  • @KevinArcade That's already happened. There are so many proxy-bidding services now that are very easy to spot on YHJP that most people living in Japan won't actually buy off of the auctions anymore. Definitely helps the sellers, but it doesn't help the Japanese collectors.

  • thanks for the tips, been wanting to start a collection one day and this site should help

  • your awesome man, thanks for the tips
