Love your videos! One hint, you can drizzle some olive oil on the bottom of your baking dish so that you don't have to worry about exposing your food to that foil when it touches it. Martha Stewart makes this special dual sided foil now that is parchment paper on one side and foil on the other which was a genius idea...
i used to work in a salon and we had one of those sonic ring cleaners. I would take my rings off when i got there and them leave them in that thing for HOURS. my rings were always sooooo clean and shiny and sparkly. i think i'm gonna look on Amazon for one.
I soak my ring in very warm water, not boiling.. with some rubbing alcohol and maybe a little bit of glass cleaner, and then brush it with a toothbrush! Looks brand new!
I worked in jewelry for years and I can tell you most jewelers use ammonia in their sonic cleaners. Don't waste your money on a sonic though. Most of the store bought cleaners have ammonia in them anyway. Just buy Parson's Ammonia at the store and use pretty hot water & a toothbrush. Your ring will shine like crazy! BTW, toothpaste is abrasive to the metal in your jewelry. Nice job on the lasagna, Lorraine! ~Crystal
To clean my jewelry I use the Tiffany cleaning cloth, its like five bucks at the Tiffany store & I'v used the same cloth to clean all my jewelry for 2 years. I recently just bought a new one, it's fantastic.
I have a Sonic Cleaner for my jewelry and love it . Send me a PM and I will give you the link to where I got mine if you would like to know. It is great it also has a steam that comes out to shine them .
Diamond is such a tough gem, using a toothbursh will hardly do any damage, infact close to none. More of concern is the metal surrounding the diamond. I have been doing it for years and looks just as gorgeous as always!! But I do soak mine overnight. Never use any products based with Chlorine...brother is a jeweler!!!!
@MoiraS63 That sounds good. I ususally just use my toothpaste with my toothbrush and it seems to do the best job. I'll have to try soaking them though, not a bad idea at all!
I have an ultrasonic cleaner...you just put warm water and handsoap in it, put your jewelry in it, and turn it on...its amazing!!! Makes my engagement ring soooo shiny!!!
I have a jewellery cleaner! It works OK, a toothbrush probably works better. It's faster to just toss all your stuff in the sonic cleaner and walk away.
I never use a toothbrush for diamonds, it could scratch and loosen the claws holding the stone, so I use one part dish washing detergent and four parts water and let soak over night and thats it :)
Woman, you really shouldn't tell people where you keep your cash and cards...but that is a good idea. I hate having to stuff my pockets when I go somewhere.
@kenzzzerz why don't you film yours and do a video reply so I can see yours in comparison? A video camera isn't going to pick up the sparkle like it does in real life.
she shushed you? stupid lady... i work at a place and we use those headsets but if someone else is trying to tell me something on the headset i'll tell the customer "hold on just one second" and then i'll apology to the customer after too
Oh no.... Never toothpasye and busy your jewelry, you'll leave tiny scrathes on them. Insteas take a little bowl, add one teaspoon of ammonia, 2 drops of washing up liquid, some boiling water. Let jewelry soak in this, rinse and dry with a soft cloth! But never ever do this on other than gold, platinium and real diamonds!
I bought the coolest jewelry cleaner kit from the jewelry counter at Macy's. You drop your jewelry in, shake it, and everything come out sparkly clean.
@schoelessschuer cityandmakeup made a video a few weeks ago for vegetarian lasagna. Pretty sure the title doesn't mention vegetarian but it didn't have any meat just baked veggies n such :) hope that helps
Oh Lorraine you's are not alcoholics! Love ur little comment to peeve people off but haha. That lasagna looked soooooo freakin tasty! I really feel like making it now :D
about the jewelry cleaner... i know this sounds gross but a denture cleaner tablet (like efferdent) dropped into water with your jewelry works amazingly, seriously one of the best ways to clean all types of jewelry and stones.
I've seen the gold flakes used in a eye makeup tutorial and I really looked amazing. I think Emma Watson had a look done like this. Now, time to check out your jewelry store :)
I'm glad your painting again! You should sell your art! I liked the picture you did of the beauty salon your mom showed us! Paint, Paint, Paint!!!! :)
i work at a jewelry store. we use a speed brite sonic jewelry cleaner that works well but i always end up scrubbing with a toothbrush too to make it extra clean. and the steam blast is really what makes the stones sparkle!
@fortheloveofthing nobody washes ground beef. if the bacteria is present, it will be mixed throughout bc its ground, hence the name GROUND beef. Cooking it thoroughly removes the risk of getting sick.
My grandmother started using a sonic jewelry cleaner and swore by it until the day she died. She owned a lot of pieces that contain diamonds and she used to have to take them to the jeweler about 2 to 3 times a year to get cleaned but w/ the cleanser she could do it herself whenever she wanted and her pieces came out looking brand new! This is saying something considering a lot of her pieces are from her 20's(she passed away at age 85)
i have the tiffany cleaner and i LOVE it! Im glad i saw your video, cause i need to call debbie on tue and see if i can order a painting for my living room! my living room wouldnt be complete with out a stanik painting.
Hi Lorraine :) You can bring your ring to your jeweler and ask him to put tiny lil white gold (I think that's the metal your ring is) dots on the inside bottom of your ring. That way your ring will always stay upright. It's top heavy cuz of the diamond. I did it to mine and the tiny metal balls you don't even feel, but they work!
The only thing i use to clean my jewelry is a toothbrush like yourself and dish soap, I place my ring in the blame of my hand then squeeze some dish soap on top, then gentle brush the stones of my ring and the gold. It's the best thing in my opinion. Apparently using abrasive gold cleaners to often can do more damage then good. Try the dish soap it cleans and shine gold and sliver amazingly .
I used to draw a lot..usually butterflies and naked women :)..oh and Ive been wanting to make lasagna for sooo long..I think Im just gonna make some..now..
My dad's fiance owns a Brookstone Ultra Sonic Jewelry Cleaner. It's about $50 at Target and works really well I use it all the time...I have one piece of advice though, if you get that particular brand, don't put cold or hot water in there because it can actually crack the diamond...luke warm water is perfect :) Hope I helped!!
My nail lady uses those copper flakes and gold flakes on acrylic nails and manicures and stuff :) you should try it! Looks beautiful! Your lasagna looks amazing!
