It is the correct year for a General Lee... 1969. NO 70s were ever used in the series, and the 68s used, were converted cosmetically to 69s. There is no pushbar, because the owner does drag racing, and that is a lot of nose weight, and he likes to win. There is no water or suds because this as shot in the middle of a car show field, and wasn't preplanned,

I have seen the 1st episode DOZENS of times... General Lees 1-3 were ALL 1969 Chargers. 1 68 was purchased in GA... for PARTS. No 68s were used until California episodes, and they were modified to look like 69s, also.

I think the original was a Wolo, as that is the only 1 you could get, until recently Now there is also a Fiamm. I was on the set and watched the movie crew record from a green 1969 Camaro on the movie set. The toys used a real horn, that was electronically "fine tuned".. it is possible that was also used in the movie, in lieu of the set horn.

The lee in this video is Mopar Hemi Orange.... if it appears red, you nee to adjust the settings on your monitor. Although often the General Lee Oranges appear Reddish, in many photos and videos, depending on lighting, this one appear orange on my computers. And thank you.. both are nice.

FOR THE RECORD.. 2 SERIES USED LEES still exist! Warner Brothers sold 17 to the Dodge Charger Registry in the 90s. They kept 1 that was used in FOREVER YOUNG, Both Reunion movies, and the least the 05 Movie. (Not sure about the 07 movie) Lee 1 was found in a Junkyard in 2000 or so, and was recently "restored/rebodied". GL13 resurfaced on Ebay in 2001 or so,& the Smith Brothers obtained 2 more that were reused in the movie GLADIATOR/ That TOTALS 22 SERIES Used General Lees. These are CONFIRMED!!

22 where do you get your info there were 17 actual show used generals sold at auction by warner brothers in 1991. The very first one was rescued yes the first one was found restored and driven back to the originasl launch site by john schneider himself. This car is the real mccoy being branded lee 1 and it still carries the badge from warner brothers. Found in a junkyard in georgia by travis bell of greenwood,indiana after 80k and 10,000 hours the general rides again

17 sold to the Dodge Charger Registry, WB kept 2 (1 was used in the reunions and the recent movies as a close up car, other is MIA), GARY and Travis found Lee 1 in GA and were CO owners (car is owned by a man in FL named Marvin, HE paid for the rebody and owned it at the time of rebody)2 others found & restored by Smith Bros., guy named Kraig owns car #13 that was found & sold on ebay a few years ago. 17 + 1, +1, +2 +1=22 cars.
