This is of course analysing a film to death and picking it apart. It's amazingly breathtaking film on the whole. Yes it has some big bloopers for sure but "water seen before it's used" is too detailed. All movies have this. In 1965 there was no such thing as video and DVD...people were just so excited that you could get away with these things.

This is all very interesting, but I have a hard time accepting the idea of "deliberate" continuity errors - especially when they occur in bunches.
This is just plain SLOPPY film-making.
