I think part of the reason he's so good is because a lot of players are truly afraid of him because of all his hype. I mean look at how some of the defenders don't even challenge him! They don't attack him and force a mistake. Messi is really amazing though.

I think that Messi is very different from Maradona, in their character, Messi is a quiet humble guy, he does his job but he is not a leader or a true captain, he only played in one team all his life in one position. Maradona is not humble but his charisma and character makes him a true leader, and his capacity of adapting his play at any team or situation is something Messi does not have because he always played in just one team being the favourite since chilhood.

Teh Argentinian style of playing is very different from waht Batista (Barca style), is like if Messi where brazilian to try to make brazil to play like Barca instead of Jogo bonito...non sense! Argentinian style in the good times (the 80´s & 90´s) was all about spontaneity and creativity based one touch, one pass with players switching positions, absolute control of the ball, and an impenetrable defense. Now we have lost this, we are loosing our identity. Only Tevez and aguero plays that way.
