@HooFbauer Tiptup, Pipsy and Diddy have the best handling. The other ones turning is pretty shitty and I guess they are slower because they are bigger.

@hondannyboy The bigger ones like Crunch and Banjo are bit slower, but much better to control in Water Courses in the hover. Medium characters like Conker are a mix of both.

I don't understand... I'm using Tiptup, I'm getting all the zippers, using green boosts for all of them, I start the race with a blue boost, but still Wizpig is way ahead of me at the end... What am I doing wrong?!

Yeah..on my game (n64) it's night time too...I actually did miss 1 zipper and still beat him... a good trick is getting him to kick you at the beginning..usually you can get him to kick you twice, but i've gotten him to do it 3 times and am ahead of him until he jumps for the first time.

I am mad at Rare, in the DS version of this game, some environmental effects in this game are ruined. and they toke the character speech out completely.

@fer201333 That's because the driving skills are not very good for Krunch, Banjo, or Bumper. You need 10 Bananas for their top speeds.

What's your strategy for getting the green boost? I know you have to let go of the accelerator but you seem like you can always do it every time. I can maybe to it half the time.

Release acceleration before you hit the boost every time... You must be waiting too late.

I discovered that you aren't supposed to hit the acceleration again until the boost is finished. That made it a lot easier. Before I was quickly releasing it and then holding it again and getting the time frame just a bit off.

Man, I've tried Tiptup, Pipsy, Drumstick, Timber, and Conker. I hit all the Zippers most of the time, and get Green Rocket Exhaust most of the time. Got any advice, AagamNM?

Unfortunately, the only real advice I can give is to practice over and over again. The first time I raced Wizpig, it took at least 20 tries before I beat him. Get to know the course as well. Hitting every Zipper is an absolute must, as is staying on the road.

a great tip I've learned is to let him kick you at the start, lets you get ahead easier.

Yup that works well. If you can, try to drive in front of him on the log bridge too (near the start). Sometimes he'll bump you forward some more, even though he's flying.

Yea, Wizpig can be a pain the first time you race him. It took me several tries back in the day. They key is just hitting the Zippers.

My FPS drops a bit when I hit Zippers on this course, or on any other course when playing on my N64. It also slows down during other things, such as all throughout the Bubbler race. The slowdown is very small, but noticeable. I see you received no slowdown when playing this. Is this because you're using an Emulator or is my N64 not working 100%? I'm also using the Expansion Pak.

This was actually played on my N64 through a capture device plus a screen recording program.

THIS game never gave me slowdown. Didn't 12 years ago, still doesn't today, so I'd say it's probably your N64. Try giving a soft blow to the inside of the disc insertion slot. Sometimes dust can give a bit of erratic behaviour for games. If you only get slowdown for this game it could be the cartage, especially if it's happening everywhere (this game isn't all that intensive on the 64).
